Big forms in big business

Skills Matter (map)

Selected By: Mark Birbeck

Managing industrial-strength forms

XForms is attracting a growing following for use in small data-entry forms, dynamically-generated by content management systems and workflow engines.

But what about large forms, such as those for buying mortgages and insurance products, filling in tax returns, applying for a passport, and so on? Can XForms help make it easier to build and maintain these kinds of applications? And if it can, how should we go about it?

Our speaker, Neal Champion, has first-hand experience of the issues surrounding the use of forms in the UK Life Assurance industry, and will be talking about the business benefits of using XForms, and the technology used to realise these benefits. His presentation will include demonstrations of real forms used for real applications out in the real world!

XForms 1.1

Before the main talk, we'll also have a short slot on the new features in XForms 1.1. You can find more on the changes at XForms 1.1 becomes a full recommendation.
