The London Basketball Meetup Group Message Board › Wednesday sessions, what a pitty!

About your Wednesday training sessions, I have to say the following:
- There are overcrowded (around 30 people). Charging 5 pounds each player, LetMePlay makes in a couple of hours a total of 150 pounds! How much is to hire the court?mmmmm, something is missing here guys...
- The coach has an attitude and shows off. He does not allow people to lean slightly on their knees to rest between baskets (something EVERY player does or has done at every level!) and communicate on a cocky manner, like being above all of us, just to name a few. He punishes players for mistakes on an open session when we are going there to have a good time and enjoy our favorite sport, not to be punish from somebody who has not humility at all.
I have been playing basketball for more than 20 years in a country where basketball is massive (Spain) and I have been told by every single coach I had that you have to be humble, disciplined and hungry for winning. The feeling I had after being "trained" by you at one of your Wednesday sessions was not good at all, I felt that I paid somebody to treat me like a soldier and I now can confirmed that England has not basketball base....at all!
To learn you have to be humble and to be humble you have to learn from others and be open to do so. There are two types of philosophies in sport science: working on your faults to achieve results or working on your virtues to achieve results. Definitely, you guys needs to work out both.
Summary: anybody thinking on going to this session to have some fun playing basketball for a small fee...DONT GO! Don't waste your money and your time to "be coached" for somebody who acts like a Pro...simply don't do it!
How easy would be to run truly open sessions with a maximum of 20 players like everywhere else in the world? I suppose that is not your philosophy. The more people you have, more money you can make...lovely basketball principles!
Anyway, good luck with your system.
