Pecha Kucha Bloggers

We are taking a new approach this month. Guest editor and long term London Bloggers Meetup member Bernie Mitchell has created a special line-up of six speakers, each with just under seven minutes to impart you with knowledge of how to excel at blogging.

This is the line up....

1. Lee Smallwood

2. Viviana Rullo

3. Robert McIntosh

4. Julie Hall

5. Phil Szomszor

6. Joanna Penn

What is Pecha Kucha?

Pecha Kucha (Japanese: ペチャクチャ, IPA: [petɕa ku͍̥tɕa],[1] chit-chat) is a presentation methodology in which 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each (approx. 6' 40" in total), usually seen in a multiple-speaker event called a Pecha Kucha Night (PKN).

I liked the short presentations and learned a few things on SEO.

Good fun and great to meet lots of bloggers. Much as it's nice to make use of Happy Hour, my only suggestion would be to start the event earlier as it can end up being a late one for a Tuesday night.

The format is cute but not vey interactive. Lots of interesting insights to take in an would have liked an opportunity to debate/discuss some of the content, not just rush on to the next. All the presenters did a good job.

Always fun, and I had the bonus of presenting this time, but as always I met some good friends and made new ones too. Great networking and learning experience. Could have been better attended however. Too many confirmed attendees who don't turn up. name & shame!

Most speakers didn't follow the rules of pecha kucha as I understood them - no presentation slides, just pictures, and automatic scrolling forward. Just saying... Very good variety to the speakers and they have an interesting perspective.

It was a shame that so many bloggers signed up for this event and then didn't show. 144 were down to come and there were probably about 50 which I simply could not understand. the venue was fantastic, but too cavernous for such a small number of people. The speakers / presentations were probably amongst the best I have seen at this Meetup, and yet to a very small audience :( I felt sorry for Andy & Bernie who worked so hard to organise.

Thank you very much. An excellent idea with a great panel of speakers who shared lots of fascinating information. I was particularly happy to hear more about podcasting.

Great first time experience, friendly crowd and lots of food for thought from the presentations.

One of the best - lively, very informative and good fun. Thanks to this I will look again at Google+ and get it working for me. Thank you for organising this.

I really enjoyed the speakers (and also speaking!) I learned about Google Plus from Lee and some new plugins from Julie. Good advanced blogging knowledge!

With great disappointment and many apologies, Andy, I've had to abandon attempts to get to this evening's Pecha Kucha session, due to public transport problems coming in from north London.

    Hi
A friend of mine is a professional model who recently stared on America's Next Top Model. She has had a website/blog designed by her old management company which is far from being great.

We are looking for someone who is able to work with her to help redesign the site and make it more up to date. This would be a great project for someone who wants to create a portfolio of work as it will get a lot of traffic and she would be able to promote you to a lot of other people. Pls contact me.

Not sure about beasts, or cadges, but we certainly have some seriously good bloggers on board so far... Bernie will tell all shortly.
