I'm a philosophy graduate currently studying for a PhD. My PhD is concerned with international political economy and political philosophy, and as much as I love it I miss engaging in broader philosophical issues.
As part of my PhD I have been spending a lot of time looking at the classics of political philosophy, specifically at the social contractarians. However, I am really looking forward to discussing other aspects of philosophy that I do not ordinarily have the opportunity to engage in. I am particularly interested in continental philosophy, something that I was introduced to at university but would love to study further. I start Being and Nothingness about once a year, but fingers crossed this year I get at least half way though...
HI Sian, welcome to Reading Women and thanks for joining. Please check the discussion board every so often as there is more info there; you can also open a discussion thread yourself. There is a limit of 16 at the meeting but there are plenty of meetings posted on the website so you can choose whichever one takes your fancy. Any questions, please don't hesitate to email me. I hope to meet you soon. Regards, Cristina
came to the pub today at exactly 2pm, unfortunately I couldn't locate you. I saw 3 small groups of people I felt awkward asking aroud if they were from London-thinkers-dinner-parties?!
I hope we get to meet someday, see ya
