Mark Vernon is a writer, broadcaster and journalist. He writes for The Guardian, The Philosophers' Magazine, Financial Times and New Statesman. He also runs a blog at markvernon.com and is on the faculty at The School of Life.

The ICA may have a deal for us on Mark's latest book The Meaning of Friendship.

Also a heads up about a free show at the ICA called Chto delat? (What is to be done?) - The Urgent Need to Struggle - Sept 9th to Oct 24th - If some of us are interested let's go as a group? Thoughts? Here is more info.

----
The ICA (Institute of Contemporary Arts) have been kind to offer us a great, quiet space to hold our discussion - with easy access to the bar. It's about a four minute walk from Charing Cross Tube - once you get inside ask for directions to the bar - then look out for the sign on the door to the room right across the bar - should be easy to find. Here is the link if you need directions to the ICA: http://www.ica.org.uk
