Announcing a new Meetup for the london philosophy club, thanks to Lee!What
: Albert Camus' Birthday - Sunday 7th NovemberWhen
: Sunday, November 7,[masked]:00 PMWhere
: The Washington
Belsize Park Gardens and Englands Lane
It would be a shame to allow another of Albert's birthdays to slip by unobserved, I think, so we shall be meeting to discuss Camus and his absurd/existential footprint.
There may be members who would like to talk for 5 minutes or so, but otherwise we could just put the world straight for a few hours.
We could pledge either to at least *possess* a copy of The Stranger and have read the back cover, or done this: http://tinyurl.com/38eypxm
Or to have spent at least 5 minutes being misled about him on Wikipedia. Easy. Venue:
The Washington, in Belsize Park.http://www.thewashingtonhampstead.co.uk/index.html
Belsize Park [Northern Line] and Swiss Cottage [Jubilee] tubes nearby.Time:
6pm onwards; if possible, I will get there earlier and dominate a cubicle..
Who knows, with any luck it will be cold and rainy outside, thick-cut chips inside, and my/your grasp of Camus may expand beyond the current handful of quotes and Nick Drake/The Cure/The Fall references.
See you there,
