Introduction to Portrait Retouching

This workshop was created thinking about the many retouching techniques that Photoshop has to offer, but also thinking of those who don't have the experience or confidence to use it.  This workshop is aimed at the beginner.

In this workshop you'll learn to correct white balance, colour correct the image, add contrast, but why stop there?  We will also learn how to use remove blemishes, add detail to eyes, clarity, saturation versus vibrance, fix eyes and lips, contour the face, use creative sharpening, clone stamp tool versus healing brush, whiten teeth and more.

We will be using Photoshop CS6 and Camera Raw and I will show you that most of the techniques can be achieved in Photoshop Elements, so if there are any Photoshop Elements users you can come along as well.

Bringing your laptop is not mandatory, but feel free to bring it and we will provide you with images to work with so you can follow along.  Bring a notepad or tablet if you want to take notes.

Places are limited so don't wait to secure a place.

As usual check the TFL website for travel information.

We are now an official Adobe User Group, further questions from this workshop can be asked and answered on this site.  http://londonphotographic.groups.adobe.com

Many thanks to Miguel for a great introduction as to what can be done in Photoshop. Miguel - which tablet do you use - Wacom Intuos?Any recommendations?

Thank you very much!I am glad you enjoyed.
In studio I use the Intuos and at home I use the Bamboo, and it was the Bamboo I took on Saturday!

My Bamboo has 4 keys that I can program and also the pen has 2 keys...I love my Bamboo, it doesn't have as many bells and whistles as the Intuos but in regards of control, pressure sensitivity, works really well.I recommend the Bamboo as is much cheaper and does exactly what I want.

If you have nay more questions, just let me know.

      Regards,

      Miguel

Very interesting afternoon, I do not know the software but thought that Miguel put over the basic tools very well and his enthusiasm was fantastic. As a Lightroom user the afternoon of photoshop gives me a dilemma .well done Alex and Miguel

Would this cover selecting? My main strugle with PhotoShop is selecting wisps of hair from a background, any techniques I have seen on the web don't work well enough!

James, I've reposted your question on the LPMG adobe user group http://londonphotogra... , Miguel who is running the session will have an answer for you.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
