Charlie Waite is one of the most outstanding landscape photographers of our time and we are pleased to announce that he will be our key speaker for the 2009 annual workshop.
Over the last twenty years, Charlie Waite has lectured throughout the UK and Europe. He is revered as a leading figure in the global renaissance of landscape photography, with past exhibitions held in London, Tokyo, New York and Melbourne. Charlie Waite's landscape photography style is unique in that his photographs convey a spiritual quality of serenity and calm.

Off Camera Flash photography
After last years "Off-camera flash photography" fotogym by Huy and friends, a lot of the LPMG members have asked for a second one as the places available at the origional workshop was limited. These members of the London Strobist group showed us what can be achieved by the use of small portable flash used off-camera.
This year, to answer to your request for another session, the group is going to reiterate with an "Off-camera flash photography" seminar during the annual workshop. They will guide you around the basis of the off-camera flash photography and help you to understand and use a flash gun to its best making it your own portable and available light to complement/replace natural light whenever needed. Learn to use this great piece of gear (that is often used improperly) to produce a range of shots which can both mimic natural light and offer you a range of creative effects. This talk will show you a variety of methods anyone can use in the home/studio or on location to produce stunning results. Also by utilising items found at home to build simple accessories which will aid you in the quest for the perfect image. The seminar will be illustrated by a live demo featuring different lighting scenarios.

Travel
If you're travelling in by public transport check travel websites for any work that might interrupt your journey to Notting Hill.
We'll be open for people to start arriving after 10am but the event will start at 11. Everyone is welcome to stay for the whole day and see the speakers if they want to.
Thanks, Alex. What time does it finish? I got an email asking whether I was staying for food, but I don't know when that would be (eg lunch or dinner) so can't say without knowing.
My Pay Pal sais, that payment was done, so why it is not apparent here?
There is no direct link between PayPal and the Meetup site; the Meetup link above directs you to PayPal, but there's no feedback from PayPal to Meetup. If you've got a receipt from PayPal then we'll have a receipt detailing your payment too, so don't worry.
We haven't booked anywhere for lunch as there is only an hour inbetween speakers and so we don't have the time for everyone to order and get food in time. There are a variety of restaurants within easy walking distance of the workshop venue so members can choose what they would like to eat.

Charlie Waite was really good. Thanks to Tom and the LPMG leadership team for organising today.
Thanks to the team for organising a great location & all the hard work behind the scenes. All the staff @ the church for being extremely helpful & Pete for filming. Thankfully everything went as expected - especially the live demos :-) Thanks also of course to Masood, Paulo and Huy for being great! Questions ? Meet us at the next Cheeky One !
Rams
Really well done to everybody involved, you did an excellent job.
Hi from New Caledonia. I so wished I were with you guys. But family is above all. Thanks for Rams, Masood and Paulo to have taken the presentation on your own. I've missed Charlie and Chris... hope they will do something again.
Any chance we could get access to the slides from the Strobists? There was a lot to take in & I couldn't write down fast enough.
Hi Miko et al.
We used the slides to remind us about the topics. Not really useful to anyone wishing to learn. Additionally, you've got to get out there and practice ! We will be at the next Cheeky One if anyone is interested in a demo or has any questions. There is a fair bit to learn but start slowly and you'll soon be getting amazing results and working with ease.
Refunds offered if:
Additional notes: Please note that you will not be automatically refunded on change of RSVP. If you cancel before the 19th of March, please change your RSVP, then drop Alex a note requesting a refund and we'll make sure this is actioned as quickly as possible for you.
Payments you make go to the organizer, not to Meetup. You must make refund requests to the organizer.

I am wondering what are the timings of this event? The page says 11am, but the Google Calendar event says 3-4 pm... how long is the event, and does it include all of the above sessions (or do you have to choose one)?
