This Poetry Group has been set up for people who enjoy sharing their own poetry, reading and listening to classical, contemporary and original works of poetry.

Every Meetup there will be a focus on a particular poet or genre. This theme or focus will be decided largely by the proximity of the date of the meetup to an anniversary of a poet's birthday.

Some meetups may not involve reading poetry, but attending a literary or cultural event, such as a poetry reading by a published poet, music and poetry or an evening at the theatre.
