Carl Schoenfeld began his career as a cameraman and editor, and later produced documentaries including the groundbreaking and multi award-winning A Sarajevo Diary for Channel 4. He advised on the development of various feature films and TV programmes including Edgar Reitz’ Heimat 3. His feature film productions, including Ben Whishaw’s acting debut My Brother Tom, picked up dozens of awards at more than 80 film festivals. Carl is also both a voting member and mentor at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). Carl received a Masters in Film & Television from the University of Westminster. His postgraduate research thesis on the German film director Franz Osten was published by The Historical Journal of Film, Radio and Television. Other publications include Sight & Sound, Broadcast, Screen International, Scriptwriter Magazine and many others.
