London Vegan Potluck is back for another monthly night. The potluck takes place on the first Wednesday of every month and has been running for almost 2 years. The potluck is in our snappy location in Central London just off High Holborn.
How does it work? What is a potluck? A potluck is an event where like-minded people get together to share homemade food, swap recipes, make friends and talk about topics that interest them.
What is a vegan potluck? It is the same as a potluck but with vegan food! There is no dairy, meat, honey or eggs. The food can be sweet or savoury and our event requires potluckers to provide an ingredients list with their dish as well as utensils to serve it and a plate or bowl to present it on.
Come along for a fabulous night of meeting without meat. If you have friends you would like to invite who are not on Meetup, RSVP are also accepted via the Facebook event page and the Fat Gay Vegan website.
PLEASE NOTE: We are now asking for a £1 donation from each attendee. There are costs and time associated with running the potluck, including occasional security hire costs. In the past this has been somewhat covered by raffles. The majority of costs have come from the organiser's pockets. Your donation will help potluck remain at this wonderful location.
Had a great time at the Vegan Potluck. It was my first time and I tried some amazing food!! I loved the shiitake mushroom noodles and the chocolate cake. I just wrote out my recipe for the Vegan Pasties in case anyone wants to try them. I got the recipe from a vegan stall at the Brighton Veg Fest last month :)

Thank you Catherine for your fab Cornish pasties' recipe!
Thank you Camille for sharing the recipe for your lemon cherry delights!
Thank you Robb for your raw veg cake recipe, fantastically healthy and yum!
Could the culprit for the outrageously delicious & decadent choc & coffee gooey cake topped with almonds report back to us please? I still dream of it at night....

Thank you everyone, it was very nice! I especially loved 'vegan buttah', chocolate cake and vegetable pasties. Well done!
Unfortunately I couldn't find out who made the pasties. Can I please have a recipe? :)

My first vegan Potluck after being told by many people that it is a great event. Wow I was not more than impressed. To all those people who keep asking me: What do you eat? The potluck would more than answer that question. Well done to the organisers and thanks a lot to everyone for sharing your creative, colourful and super yummy food. I really enjoyed the food and the social. xx

Hi! A little late but I wanted to say I had a lovely time on wednesday night, not only at the potluck tasting all of the delicious food everybody made but also at the pub afterwards getting to know some of you better. For a first timer, it was a great welcoming experience. I made the raw lemon cherry bites, I'll post the recipe over on the potluck recipes discussion Robb posted below.
See you soon everyone!

Those mini burgers by MJ were so cute and tasty and I loved Julie's raw carrot cake...I was so impressed with last night's selection of food overall a very high standard indeed and great company also!

I'm just too pregnant now to be able to cope with the crowds and with preparing food and carrying it across town on the tube. :( Too bad, especially as I know what MJ is bringing and it's my favourite dish! *guaranteed nom* I'll probably be missing the next couple as well, but hopefully will make it back with baby in tow by the summer! :)

It was a really pleasant evening. It was our first time and we were a little bit shy, but the food was great. The desserts were Fantastic specially Pear Cake (I want the recipe). I would like to leave a suggestion, instead of writing only the ingredients, people should write the entire recipe. Loads of Fantastic food but no recipes.

For those who liked the peppermint truffles, here is the recipe - my own creation :) http://moveeatbreathe.wordpress...![]()

Wow what an evening, it went so quick, I enjoyed it. It was my first Vegan Pot Luck.
I would have loved even more sweet stuff. I loved the Pear Cake.

Was a fabulous night with lots of tasty food. I didn't get to try as much as I would have liked due to organising duties, but I adored those peppermint truffles. Much love to the person who made those.

Good thinking, FGV. The current post potluck pub is The Cittie Of Yorke. I'll be leading the way at 8, but it's on High Holborn just before Chancery Lane tube station.

Almost 90 people have RSVPd for tonight.
Please remember a few things: you need to bring a dish/plate to serve your offering on, you need utensils to cut/serve your offering and you need cups if part of your offering is liquid.
You can only take one plate and one fork to eat with as we have just enough to cover attendees. Don't be late! The event starts at 6pm and we need to be walking out the door at 8pm.
*Robb* Do we need a reminder of the pub the drinkers go to after the potluck?
We have a brief announcement slot at the beginning of the potluck for people wishing to spread news of events, dates, campaigns or other vegan-related info.
April 3
Please remember: 1 pound donation is asked for each person attending. Can't wait to see everyone and their food again. I might be doing something with a Mexican twist!

Here is some good news. Wild Trail have asked to come along and let us try some of their tasty bars. They said they will have some cut up for tasting and maybe some for us to take home. I reviewed them after trying them at Vegfest Brighton and they got in touch today to ask if they could come to potluck!
