“First we eat, then we do everything else.”

M.F.K. Fisher

Paris may be the city for lovers but it's hard out there, being vegan.

Jealous of all the fantastic food options you have to choose from in London, the Parisian Vegan Group is coming to see what all the fuss is about and to make new and potentially "special" friends along the way.

Please join us for an excellent meal at one of London's premier vegan restaurants.  Practice your French. Practice your "Oh là là…!"

Who knows where the night will take you?

For those who wish to continue elsewhere for "everything else", we can walk over to The Troubadour on Lillie Road, a cool venue with a '50's speakeasy vibe - or, if that doesn't fancy you, we can head a wee bit further to Eclipse Bar, where Bolton Gardens meets Old Brompton Road and to quote Robb... And thus, and thus, and thus. ;-) https://troubadour.co.uk/ http://www.eclipsebars.com/

Thank you, Ian McDonald for the brilliant find of the bus back to Golders Green! What a lifesaver that was.

Elaine. No need to apologise. Well done
again for organising. I enjoyed meeting you
guys and look forward to some more joint
events, It was also good to meet a few
people that I've seen at the drinks but might
not have got the chance to speak to
    otherwise.

perhaps earlier would have been better, as there is so many of us, 222 is little overwhelmed and it take a while to get food, not a problem, but we missed, (or i did) the pub afterwards as it was nearly closing time when i left 222. i don't no if anybody managed to get there after that. so i only got to talk with the people on my table, none of whom were French, lol. but a good time anyway.

Again, awfully sorry about the lack of Frenchies, Ian. Cancellations at the end sort of blew it apart. If I am lucky enough to be welcomed back, I'll drag them here by the ears!

You are most welcome Elaine :D

Hi Elaine, so sorry - I don't have internet access on the move so haven't seen the confirmation until this morning! :( Had planned to join you for drinks but gone down with a cold and didn't think anyone would thank me for coming along and spreading it about. Hope you all had a fab night and will look out for the next one. :)

    April 20, 2013

    • Elaine

Oh, sorry to see you're not feeling well. I hope you're better for the weekend.... No worries, as I completely understand about lack of connection when you're on the move. Next time for sure! This was a first for me, so I hope it will be smoother from here on out. :)

Hi. Sorry, same comment as the others who were just moved from the waiting list to 'attending.' At this point, I already have other plans but hope to catch you another time. Enjoy!

    • Elaine

Hi Sarah, I know the last minute thing was a problem due to the notifications setting. Next time, I promise to do better and I hope to meet up with you then. Have a great weekend!

I'd love to come along but have missed out on places - and I spend 5 days a month in Paris, most of which consists of me sitting alone in vegan restaurants because I don't know anyone there. It would be great to meet some Paris vegans to meet up with in future - let me know if you're going someplace for a drink after dinner.

    1 · April 16, 2013

    • Elaine

Great to meet you, Drew! At least try to stop by for the drinks after. If not, let us know when you're in Paris next time. :-)

      April 18, 2013

    • Elaine

Glad you made it, Drew! :)

Cancellations at too short notice for me to take a place so next lucky person on the waiting list gets it

    April 19, 2013

    • Elaine

Hi Tim, I learned a thing or two about RSVP notifications this time around… sorry about that. I do hope to get to see you at some other event one day. Have a great weekend!

      April 20, 2013

  • Shelley

Sorry guys, got my offer of a place on the waiting list now but It's just too short notice now. Have fun & hope to catch you all at a future (similar) event.

    April 19, 2013

    • Elaine

Yeah… We had a bit of a problem with the notifications setting, but I'm sure I'll see you and we can share the train together again soon. ;-)

      April 20, 2013

  • laura

so sorry i didn't reply earlier, i have only just got back and seen my emails. hope you all had a good evening. sorry i couldn't make it.

    April 19, 2013

    • Elaine

No worries, Laura. You may have received a last minute notification. Next time, I hope to have that worked out and we'll see you then. Have a fab weekend!

      April 20, 2013

  • Elaine

First, I would like to thank all who came to participate and who suffered through my first time as an organizer! Wow, what a learning curve… But it was great to get to meet and get to know some of you better and, to those whom I didn't have the opportunity to spend a lot of time with, I hope to see you soon. London rocks!

    April 20, 2013

  • Robert

Sorry, I'll be a little bit late. Got held up in traffic. See you soon :-)

    Sorry...

  • Jaysee C.

Elaine, for the benefit of those not comming to the dinner but joining us later, am I right in saying that the plan is to meet at The Troubadour on Lillie Road, rather than the alternative venue? If so, at what time you reckon?

    April 19, 2013

    • Elaine

Hi Jaysee, Sorry for the late reply but I've been without internet all day... Yep, that's the plan. Hope to see you there!

      April 19, 2013

    • Elaine

... Dinner is set to last until 10:00 on, so we will head over to the bar shortly thereafter. I'll do my best to get everyone on schedule.

  • Elaine

Guys, I am releasing my +2 count as I've made other arrangements for them and we have quite the waiting list. Thank you all so much for your interest!,

    April 18, 2013

  • Robb

    To quote me???

Anyway, thanks for the update. I'm hoping to join the post-dinner crowd. And looks like both venues are open until 2am.

The Troubadour seems to have a gig that night (with a £7 admission charge). Though that might not apply by the time we get there.

But if we end up at The Eclipse Bar, note that it's "Smart casual dress code with no hats [I'm looking at you, Ian!] and trainers." And "No under 21".

    April 16, 2013

    • Robb

Weird. I have no recollection of it at all. Doesn't even sound like me...

Those Absinthe cocktails must have been good stuff. ;-)

      April 16, 2013

    • Elaine

      Lol!! Indeed.

Hi Elaine, thanks for the update, either look good to me.

Is there a venue in mind for 'everything else' for those that can't get in to the 'first we eat' part of the event?

    1 · April 14, 2013

    • Elaine

Hi Beverly, Thanks for your interest! That's a good question and I'll update the page in the next day or do with more details for those who wish to carry on. Also, I'll ask to increase the dinner reservation.
