Buddhafield is a summer camping music festival like no other.
It's one of the best kept secrets of the festival scene - Essential Travel call it one of the top ten unique festivals of 2013.
It's entirely vegetarian. The main cafe tents are vegan. There's a "Vegan Vihara" tent.
Of course, there's music. Folk. Ska. Opera. Balkan/gypsy, Lots of DJs. And, as it's a fundraiser for a Buddhist order, there's also lots of Buddhist stuff. It's not a retreat and it's not a 24 hour party. But it has just a little bit of both.
Buddhafield is also drug and alcohol free. (If this puts you off, remember that this festival will be the week after the vegan beer festival. At that point, your body might welcome a break.)
So let's go!
I've set the dates for when Buddhafield opens and closes: we can come later and/or leave earlier. It would be really good to camp together.
Jane Easton ([masked]) is running the aforementioned "Vegan Vihara"; a tent housing a vegan information space. She would welcome help running it; so do say in comments if you would like to help.
[Update Jul 16] We're officially joining/camping with the Vegan Vihara. So if you want to camp with us, find the Vihara in the social change space.
Adult tickets are £117; or there are plenty of volunteer spots left.
(This is probably the longest ever London Vegan meetup event, and a bit different in that we'll all obviously be going off and doing our own thing quite a bit. If you come with us, please eat vegan as you would at any other LV event in a veggie venue; if you're not vegan it's a great place to practice eating lots of tasty vegan cake, pancakes, and other food for a few days.)
