London Vegan Potluck

London Vegan Potluck is back for another monthly night. The potluck takes place on the first Wednesday of every month and has been running for over two years!

The potluck is in our snappy location in Central London just off High Holborn.

How does it work? What is a potluck? A potluck is an event where like-minded people get together to share homemade food, swap recipes, make friends and talk about topics that interest them.

What is a vegan potluck? It is the same as a potluck but with vegan food! There is no dairy, meat, honey or eggs. The food can be sweet or savoury and our event requires potluckers to provide an ingredients list with their dish as well as utensils to serve it with if required. Every attendee has to bring a contribution of food or drink!

What else do you need to know?

- You must bring your own serving dish and utensils (this includes a knife if your dish requires cutting or a spoon to serve pasta salad etc)

- There is a charge of £1 to participate in the potluck, paid on the night

- The potluck runs promptly from 6pm until 8pm. Don't be late!

- One plate and one fork for each attendee to eat with is supplied. If you want more than this, you are welcome to bring your own extra

Come along for a fabulous night of meeting without meat. If you have friends you would like to invite who are not on Meetup, RSVP also accepted via the Facebook event and the Fat Gay Vegan website

Hi guys, I've just joined the group and have never attended Potluck before.... I would like to come on Wednesday but I would be coming straight from work so I can't really bring any food... can I still come just to see it how it looks like and to meet you all ?

Very lovely Potluck with some interesting and tasty food. Vanessa sold 12 books meaning she raised much needed funds for Animal Equality.

I think we might have to start talking about the amount of people bringing drinks. The number is growing every month, meaning there is less food to go around. The potluck should primarily be about food and lately there hasn't been enough to last more than just over an hour.

I will mention on next month's event page that people are encouraged to bring food over drink but if the trend continues, we might need to change the 'rules' asking everyone to bring food.

Hi Shaun, yes I think food should be the main priority although I did bring drinks this time I also think that drinks are also a nice add on to the whole event next potluck i'll bring both much love and appreciation love you always and for ever Xxoo

Hi guys. I think two potlucks ago I accidently stole someone's teaspoon. It is a long coctail spoon. So if anyone is missing it I will leave it with Sean (the event host). Sorry :-)

Vannessa Almeida will be at the Potluck this month selling copies of her new cookbook, Essential Vegan.

The book sells for £9 and for every copy sold, Vanessa will donate £2 to Animal Equality. This wonderful outreach charity will also be on hand to help sell the books and explain all the hard work they do. Maybe some people would like to ask them about getting involved in their campaigns.

You read about the book here:

I think Vanessa will also be bringing some of her own dishes created from recipes contained in Essential Vegan!
