London Vegans Monthly Meeting: Tim Barford from Yaoh and Vegfest UK.

DETAILS: Guest speaker Tim will tell us about the success of the veg*n festivals he has organised in the UK, and no doubt be telling us more about London Vegfest which is taking place on 5th and 6th October at Olympia.

ADMISSION: £2 (£1 concessions.).

FOOD/DRINK: Free hot drinks provided, but if you'd like to bring some vegan snacks to share, please feel free to do so (but not necessary).

If you'd like hot food (pizza, burrito, curry) or one of Shambhu's famous vegan cheescakes then please ensure you pre-order by 2pm on 24th September. The full menu, and how to order, can be found at: (Tel:[masked]).

GETTING THERE: Nearest tube station is Russell Square, but Holborn and Chancery Lane are not too far away. If coming by car there is free parking after 6.30pm on a single yellow line.

Newcomers most welcome.

I asked this so long ago now, I can't remember the answer, but is the venue actually the one run by Holborn Community Association? See which has the correct map.

Perhaps it's time to 'Edit' this Meetup to use the venue I mentioned, and add an accurate description in the 'How to find us' box? As a newbie last night, it wasn't immediately obvious where to go (lucky I knew about the HCA); I'm just glad it wasn't yet dark, as I mightn't have seen the signs!

I think from recollection there's an issue with the street numbering in Millman Street which is why the location is described as being next to 38a rather than number 50! Hope you had a nice time Richard and look forward to seeing you again soon. Brian

Will it be possible to get tickets to the Veg Fest and hard copy programs to read at the meeting?

I second Chandresh's comment; it was refreshing to hear a vegan actively encouraging omnivores into the veg fold, and gently coaxing vegetarians to 'upgrade' to a vegan lifestyle :-)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
