Pop-up Vegan Pub! (with The Mighty Fork)

The lovely folk at The Mighty Fork have teamed up with The Craft Beer Social Club to create a vegan pop-up pub in a quirky warehouse space for one weekend in November.

They've got British vegan breweries, such as Hastings, to provide cruelty-free beer (other drinks will be available too). Food is exclusively provided by street food traders The Mighty Fork (so expect amazing vegan hot dogs). And I think there'll be live music too...

Entry is free, you pay for your food and drinks.

I've booked for 20 for now, but should be able to increase this if there's more demand.

More details when I have them...

If you have a confirmed RSVP or are on the Waiting List, please check your email for an important update.

For everyone else, please don't just turn up on the off-chance (unless you've booked your own table). They're not as able to accommodate walk-ins as a typical pub. Instead, please text Justina on[masked] regarding availability if you still want to come.

They were very busy last night, and are trying to accommodate as many people as possible tonight...

Hi Robb, I will be late, around 8pm, I hope it's fine. Thanks!

I managed to get a booking through Justina so I can give up my space for someone else. Hope it's not too late.

Sorry I can't go now as I made other plans. I didn't think I was going to get a place.

I went last night and spent all of my money, writing this from my bed because I'm still unable to move. Therefore, freeing up my spot for one of you waiting list people!

Look for the small paper sign '2 Tudor Grove', at the left hand side of Enterprise House. I'm sure there's space for everyone!

    November 15, 2013

  • Robb

    Watch this space...

Got a message from the Craft Beer Social Club that *might* allow us to increase numbers. But haven't been able to get hold of them...

    November 15, 2013

  • Robb

OK, here's the deal. We have a table booked for 20 people. Hence, the limit of 20 RSVPs. I've been trying to get this increased, but no luck so far. (Although, I haven't *quite* given up.)

But it's in a pub. So there's nothing to stop other people attending. We just can't guarantee them a seat. And we'll boot you out if you take one of ours! :-P

You could actually book your own table via the link above. But that does risk fragmenting the group. (And they'll charge you a deposit of £5 a head!)

Alternatively, I can just remove the attendee limit on this event. So we'll still have 20 seats, but nobody will be guaranteed to get one...

What do you think? Happy to play musical chairs?

    November 11, 2013

    • Helen

just seen this - I'm very happy to play musical chairs and am pretty sure that (being generally lovely people) most people on the yes list would agree that it's more the merrier -even if we can't all sit down at the same time!

      November 15, 2013

  • Laura.

    Still feeling poorly.
Would like to give up my place to the next person on waiting list.
I hope you all have a fab evening.

Hi Robb, I wanted to change my RSVP status for the Vegan beer night in Orpington event and accidently changed of this one, which I booked more than a month ago and really want to go. Do you know if they still have places available for this one?

    November 13, 2013

    • Robb

      I don't. But I'll see what I can do...

      November 14, 2013

  • Chan

unfortunately i cant make this , so 1 place is available for someone??

    November 12, 2013

  • Richard

Hi. Is anything else happening meetup wise if the waiting list people can't go?

    November 12, 2013

  • Jessica Stella F.

Hi! I've taken myself off the list, as I mentioned ages ago I was a maybe & now, another reason; I'm going to do my best to avoid wheat! It sounds lovely, and maybe, me & mum may come along & play ''musical chairs'' etc... who knows! Anyway, still not sure what we're doing for mum's birthday, so I best free up the space for someone! All the best, bye for now, Jess :)

Robb, do you know if you have to be seated to order food? I could easily drink beer and eat hotdogs standing up and would be more than happy to do so! Removing the attendee limit sounds good to me.

    1 · November 11, 2013

    • Robb

I'm pretty sure you *don't* need to be seated to order food.

      November 11, 2013

  • Steven OG S.

Personally I think you should keep the attendee list at 20 (or whatever you can get away with) - everyone in addition who wants to come along can just turn up? If it is massively overrun, would be nice to know that those who got in early have got somewhere to sit etc as and when needed.

Or someone else takes it upon themselves to create a second booking? Obviously the more the merrier with such things - would be great to have a factory full of vegans :-)

    November 11, 2013

  • Alan

Welk I'm on the waiting list so think it's down to the confirmed attendees to decide. However, I'm quite happy to come along just to the pub to meet... at least with those who are also on the waiting list :-) Anything more is a bonus. I'm sure we'll be able to sort out food somehow, or simply play it by ear? If those waiting are still coming just say so :-)

    November 11, 2013

  • Pamela

I'm happy to play musical chairs and it'd be more fun with more people. But if you move the attendee limit completely and all 66 people came, maybe we won't all fit? (It's a warehouse space rather than a normal pub, so they might stop letting people in.)

    November 11, 2013

  • Ben C.

Absolutely gutted but can't make this any more. I've changed my RSVP so someone else can enjoy.

would love to come, how do I go about getting on the list?

    November 10, 2013

Join the waiting list (as you have). And hope!

  • Mímir

This sounds awesome: do you know what gluten free options there will be? :P

    November 11, 2013

    • Robb

Unfortunately, the hot dogs contain gluten. So even skipping the bun won't make them gluten-free. (And no idea about the beers, I'm afraid.)

      November 11, 2013

  • Robb

I'd very much expected that we'd be able to increase the size of our booking - potentially up to 55 people. However, it seems that they're wary of us booking more than 20 places in case we get a lot of "no-shows".

I'll keep trying, but if you don't manage to get a space, you might like to pop along the night before where they're doing the same thing.

In the meantime, please keep your RSVP up to date (to minimise those "no-shows", no matter how big the group is).

Wow, long waiting list, what a lot of hungry & thirsty Vegans.

I'm a maybe; it is my mum's birthday that weekend, but I thought I'd pop me name on anyway! No idea what we're doing so, if we're not going away, maybe I'll bring her along? :)
