Thanks again Ranjan, I gained a lot from last night! I'll be emailing you soon with my questions!
I just wanted to invite anyone to come with me to the feminist film festival in hackney tmrw night that Ranjan mentioned!
I'm not sure if I'll be going for 6:30 or 9:00, both look great though!

Thanks Gemma. I am so glad that the film inspired you! I couldn't make it as I had to leave early next day to be with my brother's family in Leicester.

Keep an eye on the UK Feminista website for future events (www.ukfeminista.org.uk). And I am sure Gemma that you will enjoy 'Women of the world' festival (WOW!) at Southbank Centre being held around 8th March 2014. (www.http://wow.southbankc...). WOW is really the place to meet some amazing feminist women from all over the world!

Hey Ranjan, I'm abroad and couldn't make it but anywhere I can read your thoughts on the subject please? :)

No worries Laura, I should be able to send presentation slides as an attachment (except the videos as the video file size is too large) if you forward me your email address. Thanks

Nice to see censorship alive and well on this page..

Ironically, I've had to delete Brian's response, as I felt comments about another member were inappropriate. But here's an edited version...
"I removed the comments. Sorry Lesley... if people want to question Ranjan on his views then I ask that those people come along to the talk tonight. If you can't make the talk then speak to Ranjan next time you see him. I want to keep discussion here peaceful and respectful."

Sadly, I have been forced to delete yet more comments. (I'm not going to bother to keep editing them if people can't be bothered to stop attacking one another).

Attacking other members is unacceptable. I haven't yet had to remove anyone from the group for such behaviour, so don't make me start now. Take it to private email or let it go.

Hey, I'm new to this site and am gradually learning. Do I have to wait to hear about the waiting list, or can I just turn up anyway? :P

    November 25, 2013

    • Brian

Sorry for delay in responding. For a number of events on the Meetup group you have to wait til you are moved up from the waiting list. For this particular event it is less crucial, but please see my note regarding seating.

I can't attend but is there anywhere I might read some of the speaker's thoughts?

Looking forward to this very much and have ordered already my food - yessss!!

I don't doubt it's proven so popular. The link between feminism and veganism is clear and quite fascinating for those new to the link. I must admit I am always sorely disappointed when I attend a feminist event only to have cow's milk present for the tea and coffee break. There are lots of vegan-feminist blogs/pages around on the web if you just enter the term into a search engine. Really fascinating stuff and great reads. Hope it is a great evening.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS MEETING IS PROVING TO BE VERY POPULAR. APART FROM THOSE RESPONDING ON THIS LIST THERE WILL BE A NUMBER OF OTHER ATTENDEES. We'll do our best to fit everyone in, but there's a limited number of chairs in the room (please don't ask me how many) so it maybe that some people may need to sit on tables or on the floor (there are mats) or even stand. The doors open at 6.30pm and free tea and coffee will be available shortly afterwards, as will hot food for those who have pre-ordered. My recommendation is to arrive between 6.30pm and 7pm and get yourself a seat!
