Join me for Post Christmas Fayre Party at The Nitty Gritty!
After enjoying the many delights of Animal Aid's Christmas fayre, do join me if you can in Camden Town, for The Nitty Gritty, a fantastic club night of 60's, Soul, Funk, Motown, Early Ska, Reggae, etc, all only played on vinyl, by my mates DJ Dapper D (Debbie) and Jaybird Slim (Jay), plus guest DJ's, down in the Cellar Bar, at The Constitution, (on Regent's Canal), a few minutes walk from Camden Road Overground Station, and just about a 5/10 minute walk from Camden Town Station.
It starts at 5pm and finishes around 10.45/11pm; the pub upstairs has a pool table, if you fancy a game, but down in the cellar, is where it's at!
It's only small, but many can pack in there (& spill out to the area out back, by Regent's Canal! There is a beer garden too, but it's going to be cold come early December, so the snug cellar's the place to be...!) and starts to properly fill up around 7/8, with Nitty regulars, some of whom come down dressed in 50's/60's dress; the atmosphere is fantastic!
You may feel like you've time traveled back to the 1960's indeed! :)
It certainly wont feel like winter when the place fills up and the dancing gets going! It's always hot in the cellar!
Do join me there at any point from 5; it's £2 before 7pm, £4 after 7pm.
Post Nitty revellers? We can take a trip up to The Elephant's Head, near Camden Lock/Inspiral, which doesn't close till 2am!!
So, if you like 60's, funk, soul, ska, reggae, etc, etc, join me at The Nitty Gritty; I'll be leaving by the number 27 bus from Kensington, which will take about an hour to get to Camden, so I'm thinking I may leave the Christmas Fayre at approximately 4pm. *Though this timing will be flexible somewhat!*
But I aim to get to the Nitty between 5 & 6pm; I'll update the details closer to the time!
So, maybe see you at The Winter Nitty Gritty!
Bye for now,
