Tibits vegan evening, this Sat 21st Dec 6.30pm

  • Dec 21, 2013 · 6:30 PM

Hello lovely vegan and vegan friendly folk,
Join us at Tibits this Saturday for their next vegan friendly day - advertised as days when all the hot dishes are vegan You still need to check the labels on everything for the V symbol to check it's vegan, not all the salads and desserts will be vegan.

Tibits is in Heddon Street which is off of Regent Street. Nearest tubes are Oxford Circus and Piccadilly Circus.

New members welcome as always, we’re a very friendly bunch.

Please ensure that you update your reply if you find you are no longer able to attend as it’s essential that we keep a good relationship with the places we visit by not over- or under- booking.

For those who haven’t been to Tibits before:

We don’t all sit down to eat at the same time (and some of us don’t eat) so if you want to eat, whenever you’re ready just help yourself to whatever you fancy from the vegan choices in the buffet.

As with all London Vegan Meetups, please choose only vegan food and drinks. The vegan options are denoted by a V symbol, there are other symbols but I’m afraid I don’t know what they mean, there's a guide to the symbols on the food boat or just ask the staff if you have any special dietary requirements.

There’s a great selection of very tasty food, but if you’re on a budget please be aware that you pay for your food according to its weight and it can get quite pricey if you’re not careful. It’s not unusual for a good plateful to cost £12 to £15 (I’ve even known people pay around £17). Help yourself to a FREE bread roll but don’t put it on your plate (otherwise you’ll pay for it if the staff don’t notice it there).

Take your plate of food to the bar/counter/till where you’ll be asked to put it on the scales and will be told how much to pay. Cutlery will be given to you when you pay.

Some of us drink alcohol, others don’t. There’s free tap water from a fountain/tap in front of you as you walk in – on the left just before the stairs - there should be glasses (or unfortunately most likely plastics these days) on the shelf (if not ask at the bar).

There’s a lift for anyone with mobility/stair issues but it’s painfully slow. It’s near the buffet – you need to keep your hand on the down/up button for it to move.

Any questions, just ask below.

Look forward to seeing you all.

Helen xx.

Thanks Lesley, I'm not sure what time we'll be there until - it won't be a late one for me personally but we'll be there at least until about 10pm I should think.

Hi Helen. Please don't count me in as far as giving numbers to Tibits is concerned. I've been ill with flu throughout most of the pre-Christmas season, and just thought I'd just pop in if I have the strength to say Hi to people. Not really planning on eating and drinking if I make it. If I don't make it - have a good Christmas everybody!

Hi Dzintars, thanks for letting me know - and I hope you do feel well enough to pop in and say hi. If not, get well soon and have a great Christmas.

Hi everyone, I need to let Tibits know exact numbers - particularly this time as there are other bookings downstairs so they need to know where to put us. Could you please make sure your reply is up to date - and if you're only a maybe please say so in the comments below. look forward to seeing you all. H xx

Thanks for letting me know you're a 'might' - it really is very helpful to know these things. If you can update when you know for sure either way that'd also be great. XX
