Hello lovely Vegans and Vegan-friendlies,
Please join us for dinner and/or drinks at Tibits on Wednesday, 19th February from 6.30pm. As seating at Tibits is quite informal this is an ideal opportunity to mix with a variety of like-minded people.
New members, as always, are particularly welcome.
There will also be a short talk (about 45 minutes) given by Vanessa Hudson of the Animal Welfare Party, and Vanessa will be around for a while afterwards to answer any questions.
As with all London Vegan Meetups, please choose only vegan food and drinks.
Please ensure that you update your reply if you find you are no longer able to attend as it’s essential that we keep a good relationship with the places we visit by not over- or under- booking.
For those who haven’t been to Tibits before:
Tibits is in Heddon Street which is off of Regent Street. Nearest tubes are Oxford Circus and Piccadilly Circus.
We don’t all sit down to eat at the same time (and some of us don’t eat) so if you want to eat, whenever you’re ready just help yourself to whatever you fancy from the vegan choices in the buffet.
The vegan options are denoted by a V symbol, there are other symbols but I’m afraid I don’t what they mean, there's a guide to the symbols on the food boat or just ask the staff if you have any special dietary requirements.
There’s a great selection of very tasty food, but if you’re on a budget please be aware that you pay for your food according to its weight and it can get quite pricey if you’re not careful. It’s not unusual for a good plateful to cost £12 to £15 (I’ve even known people pay around £17).
Help yourself to a FREE bread roll but don’t put it on your plate (otherwise you’ll pay for it if the staff don’t notice it there).
Take your plate of food to the bar/counter/till where you’ll be asked to put it on the scales and will be told how much to pay. Cutlery will be given to you when you pay.
Some of us drink alcohol, others don’t. There’s free tap water from a fountain/tap in front of you as you walk in – on the left just before the stairs - there should be glasses (or unfortunately most likely plastics these days) on the shelf (if not ask at the bar).
There’s a lift for anyone with mobility/stair issues but it’s painfully slow. It’s near the buffet – you need to keep your hand on the down/up button for it to move.
Any questions, just ask below.
I look forward to seeing you all.
