Book Club @ Tibits

  • Jul 10, 2012 · 6:30 PM

Welcome to Book Club 2012 at Tibits.

We do meet regularly on the second Tuesday of the month. Everyone is welcome, just bring yourself, a suggestion for the next book and a desire to eat some yummy food. If you've actually read this month's book, even better!

The book for this meeting (July) is "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" by Mark Haddon.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Curious-Incident-Dog-Night-Time/dp/1400032717

http://www.greenmetropolis.com/book.aspx?isbn=9780099450252

The book for the next meeting is "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury (who sadly died recently).

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0006546064/

http://www.greenmetropolis.com/book.aspx?isbn=9780006546061

I recommend GreenMetropolis for second hand books, as all proceeds go either to the seller or charity.

A really great bunch of people. A very enjoyable evening. All very light hearted and fun.

In an uncharacteristic level of organisation, there is a table booked downstairs. Ask for Book Club or Jon. Clearly we need a book club mascot, to make identifying us easier - an opportunity for another vote?

We always put a book out on the table - not necessarily the book we are reading, but a book. also if you ask at the bar they will point us out. if the table is booked it will be in Jon Homan's name

:-) Thanks for the reply! I'll just wonder round waving the book until I find someone that wants to talk to me :-)

    Hi Victoria
We never know until we are all there, really. Sometime a table has been booked, sometimes it has not, and we find one on the spot. The best think is that you go downstairs first and you may found a bunch of people on a table --some of who you may recognise--with some books on their hands. If it appears that there is another meeting downstairs that has nothing to do with us, then look fore a large table upstairs. Sooner or later you will find us.

Hi - this will be my first meetup event - how do I know which table the book club is at ?

I have a copy of Fahrenheit 451 in a box somewhere. Let me know if anyone would like to borrow it.
