Vegan Peasant Catering (http://www.veganpeasantcatering.com/ & also see Facebook;

Vegan Peasant | Facebook )

is run by Diana Pinkett (I've met her, she's a lovely woman)         & Adrian Smith; I've been meaning to pop up & visit their stall at Chatsworth Road Market, Hackney, for a while!

So I thought it would be nice to make it into a Meet Up, check out her stall, have a wonder about the market, (& maybe Hackney Marsh; I've never been there!) then end up at a cafe/pub afterwards, if anyone fancies a drink!

The Market is from 11am-4pm;
....so, I'll tentatively suggest anyone who wants to meet at 11, as Stick Man said, meet ''...where Brooksby's Walk meets Homerton High St. It is less of a walk and closer to Homerton Station (overland link to Stratford or Highbury & Islington).

Or, Buses; 38, 48, 55, 106, 253, 254 etc to Lower Clapton Rd, get off at The Round Chapel (can't miss it), & walk across via Powerscroft Rd...'' (Cheers Stick Man :) )

(Other train stations; Clapton; Hackney Downs; Hackney Central)

Or, see you at Vegan Peasants Stall after 11; of course, turn up whenever you can, & who ever is around & fancies going to the pub later, let's say meet by Vegan Peasant's stall at about 3.30 or 3.45 & we'll head off then, to Pogo Cafe (& maybe a pub later.)

So, 'summary'; I'll meet anyone arriving at 11ish, at The Round Chapel, Lower Clapton Road (or people can meet at train stations, namely the closest, Homerton, but I'll be going by bus); visit Vegan Peasant's Stall, wonder about the market, (also; possibly wonder off & explore local parks, maybe a bit of Hackney Marsh??) then anyone for a cafe/pub, meet at Vegan Peasant Stall, at[masked]pm. All the best, Jess :)

Hello Everyone; Yesterday was lovely, I'm so glad it went well, even if we did miss one or two! Sorry! Thanks to everyone who made it, even for a short spell! I met 13 people yesterday, familiar & new faces; I've no idea who else we may not have caught up with; again, sorry if we missed you!
    All the best, Jess :)

I arrived late, lovely food at Vegan Peasant and had a good talk with them as it was raining and they had no customers, they said the group had gone on to Cakey Muto, which was also lovely so talked to them for a while, but no one had left a phone number with either venue for late arrivals, so just went home. I think it's a good idea for meetups that don't have a clear itinerary to have at least one contact number, like the recent walkabout in Spitalfields / Brick Lane, where a few people joined later.

Anyone for Tennis? On Sunday, from 2pm, Andy Murray is in the Men's Final; I'm hoping a nearby Pub might be showing the Olympics, hopefully the Tennis! I will have a wonder & see! See you all tomorrow! Jess :)

Would it be possible to get a mobile, in case anyone's running late?

Hi Mick; I'm not going to post my number publicly, but the plan is anyone running late,
I'll be at Vegan Peasant's Stall by 11:30 & probably hang around there for a bit before
we wonder off & explore the market. Then I was starting to think of trying to catch the
Men's Tennis final in a pub if anyone's up for cheering on Andy Murray! This all depends
on a near by pub actually showing the tennis!! Anyway, hopefully people will find each other
at some point & as I said, 3.30pm at VP stall for Cafe or pub after the market closes at 4pm.
      All the best, Jess :)

The crepe place on the corner of Chatsworth Road does vegan crepes and very good coffee. Shame they use bone china cups but if you ask I'm sure they can find a mug instead. Haven't tried the crepes yet, but was very excited the other day to see all the options :)

Thanks Jo; will you be able to make it at all? If not, catch you at another Vegan Drinks! :) All the best, Jess :)

Hi everyone; I just wanted to find out who is traveling by bus so I'll know who I'm meeting at The Round Chapel for 11am. I think I'll wait there about 5/10 minutes then head down Powerscroft Road to Chatsworth Road; & so if I don't see anyone at The Chapel, I'll see you
at the VP stall whenever I get there (depends how long the walk is) so roughly speaking I
should be at the stall by 11.30am. When there's a group of us, I think gradually, after picking
up some bits at the stall, wonder about the market, then find a park a bit later, possibly see a
bit of the marshes, then by 3.30pm rendezvous at Vegan Peasant Stall to leave by 4pm, probably
for Pogo Cafe. All the best, looking forward to Sunday, Jess :)

I've just checked how close we'll be to Pogo cafe & it's not far,
    (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=pogo%20cafe,%20hackney)
so as I've never been there too, we could go there! I'm looking forward to Sunday! All the best, Jess :)

I'm afraid I can't make this anymore as I'm off to Wales for the weekend. Hope you all have fun.

All being well, I'm traveling by bus, (no.38) so I'll meet anyone getting there for 11ish at The Round Chapel, Lower Clapton Road; people traveling by tube, the nearest station is Homerton. People arriving later than 11, hopefully see you near the Vegan Peasant Stall & around the market. Then anyone still around who fancies a drink at a cafe or pub meet at Vegan peasant stall at[masked], to head off by 4, which is when the market closes. All the best, bye for now, Jess :),

    Hello & thanks to all who've RSVP'd--
is everyone set for the 5th?
Let me know if you can't make it
& if most can't, we could easily change it
    to the 12th of August.
    All the best, Jess :)

Thanks 'The Stick Man'; the 38 bus is more direct for me, I just put the first result I got from TFL 'Journey Planner'! Cheers for the details & links; I had a wonder about on street view & did see it's a bit of a walk (nice walk though) until there's an actual street from the Lea Bridge End, so yes, the other end sounds good! >> Akasha; I'm roughly saying the 5th August but can change that if most can't make it, so I'm keeping it a bit flexible! Cheers, Jess :)

The most direct route would be The Round Chapel > Powerscroft Rd > Blurton Rd. It's a straight line and takes you directly to the market.

For "them wot pubs" ... there is The Elderfield 2/3 rds of the way along the route, or a couple of old barge pubs along the River Lea like the Anchor & Hope [http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1918801].

For "them wot don't" there are a number of nice coffee shops on Chatsworth Rd and Sutton House to go to.

And you're near to Pogo Cafe.

I think it would be more sensible to meet at the other end of Chatsworth Road, where Brooksby's Walk meets Homerton High St. It is less of a walk and closer to Homerton Station (overland link to Stratford or Highbury & Islington).

Alternatively, one can take the 38, 48, 55, 106, 253, 254 etc to Lower Clapton Rd, get off at The Round Chapel (can't miss it), & walk across via Powerscroft Rd.

The buses to Chatsworth Rd are not much use but include 236, 276, W15, 308 mainly from the East.
