Vegan Treats around Brick Lane

Hi, I've decided to stage this forage again. Let the eating commence!

I work near Brick Lane on Sundays and have subsequently found a load of amazing vegan food stalls and shops in the local area which I'd like to share with you all. Shops and stalls include The Rainforest Stall, Vegan Pad Thai, Vegan Momos, Ethiopian food, incredible falafel, vegan cakes at the Tea Rooms, Montezuma for chocolates and there are the usual cool bars to have a drink or coffee.

We will meet outside Montezuma's where you can purchase your lovely choccies and then take a trek around Spitalfield Market for a while.

Afterwards we will head towards Brick Lane and visit the indoor market and then the tea rooms. We will end up at Mason and Taylor where there are loads of vegan drinks. I'll be holding a vegan flag to steer the crowd.

Really nice way to spend a Sunday! So many great vegan food options that I will have to go back there over and over to try other ones. Great conversation too.

Great market-tour jagtar! :) All those little gems... and lots of great people. Hint for next time: Many food-stalls at this last place reduce their prices about an hour before closing time.

Hi, sorry for no tea rooms and cake today, it was due to a clerical error and shouldn't have been posted on the event. It was lovely seeing you all anyway x

There is an anti fur demonstration against Beyond Retro this Sunday 200 yards from Brick Lane. The demo starts at 1pm and finishes at 3pm sharp, giving people plenty of time to get to this meetup. The address of the demo is Beyond Retro, 110 Cheshire St, London E2. If you require more information about the demo please phone 0777 374 5427.

Hi Amelia, it may be best to just go to the stated address on the high street, then go through Montezuma's into the market place, that is where we met last time :)

Does anyone involved in this group work for Montezuma?

    1 · November 10

    • jagtar

Haha good question Lewis. No, I don't. I think it's a good place to meet up and they sell good vegan chocolates.

Thanks for taking the trouble to contact Alternative London, Steve.
I think a fiver would be an absolute bargain, but its up to other people (they used to do pay what you can for tour groups, and we all paid more). Better weather is the way to go- less chance of folk dropping out

Hi Saira, a street art cultural tour sounds fabulous and I tho kill put this on the agenda next year when the sun's out for longer and it's warm. Chat to me about it at the meetup,

Thanks to Robb, I'm now onboard.
It would be great to combine this with the Alternative London street art tour, which also begins at Spitalfields, sometime.
Or - maybe make that a separate event as it would take valuable time out of grazing opportunities!

I think it would be worth a fiver each if we managed to guarantee 30 people - but up to Jagtar I guess.

Also, I have it on good grounds that Mason and Taylor is no more - just a heads-up.

    • jagtar

Hey Steven, I'll have a quick check on Mason and Taylor when I get the chance. With regards to the Cultural side of things, I will look into it when the weather gets warmer or if someone wants to volunteer then great as I won't charge for events.
