***UPDATE***
There will be a raffle running at this potluck where you can win some fabulous Moo Free Chocolate goodies. All money raised will be going toward the Moo Free Kickstarter campaign to buy new equipment for their factory.
If their Kickstarter target is not met, they don't get any of the pledged funds. If that is the case, Moo Free have asked we donate the raffle proceeds to The Farm Animal Sanctuary.
It is a win-win situation! Vegan food, chocolate raffle and supporting a good cause!
***END UPDATE***
London Vegan Potluck is back for another monthly night. The potluck takes place on the first Wednesday of every month. The potluck is in our snappy location in Central London just off High Holborn.
How does it work? What is a potluck? A potluck is an event where like-minded people get together to share homemade food, swap recipes, make friends and talk about topics that interest them. What is a vegan potluck? It is the same as a potluck but with vegan food! There is no dairy, meat, honey or eggs. The food can be sweet or savoury and our event requires potluckers to provide an ingredients list with their dish as well as utensils to serve it with if required.
Please note:
- we strongly prefer homemade food
- only take one plate per person
- dining plates are not for presenting your dish on
- you cannot attend without a contribution (don't laugh, it happens every time)
- when you have finished eating, put your plate on the trolley and any rubbish in the bin provided
Come along for a fabulous night of meeting without meat. If you have friends you would like to invite who are not on Meetup, RSVP are also accepted via the Facebook event page http://www.facebook.com/events/540604269291977/ and the Fat Gay Vegan website http://fatgayvegan.com/ldnveganpotluck/
You can find Robb's discussion for potluck recipes at http://www.londonveganmeetup.co...
(Perhaps you could pin that to the top of the discussions list Robb and/or add the link to future potluck descriptions?)

Such a great turn-out this time and tasty food as always. We went to a different pub for after-drinks this time which was cool; delightful traditional pub with a lovely interior and loads of seating to accommodate our large numbers!

So someone just guessed the attendance on Facebook. We had 101 people at London Vegan Potluck tonight. Spectacular! It is such an incredible event and truly one of the finest vegan nights anywhere in the world. We are the best! xx

Amazing turnout. By far the biggest London Vegan Potluck ever. Anyone want to guess how many attendees we had all up? I will give you a clue... the last potluck was 73 people and tonight was more than that.

Thanks to everyone for the yummy food and great company. Some super savoury dishes this time. Loved the coconut-flavoured stirfry and the dish with hummus and yoghurt and stuff (sorry, can't remember what they were called!). Also the orzo pasta and chocolate cupcakes, and a lovely bean casserole. Mmm and the pizza. Noms galore. My brownies were a bit bashed up after travelling to Bournemouth and back, so thanks to those who took a chance on my dubious-looking creation!

Forgot to say: the guy with the Choux Bun/Eclairs... you have a fan for life. It was incredible.

It was packed! I had a great conversation with Emily, who made the Florentines, and her aunt. The event got a bit noisy, but with so many people there, it's gonna happen!

My cake has just come straight out of the oven, but unfortunately I really don't feel well and need to slow down the pace today. I am so sad as I really looked forward to this event! Really hope to meet you all guys at the next upcoming event!!

Oh by the way the Kickstarter sadly already missed its target so it'll be for the sanctuary!
February 6
Absolutely gutted I can't come now - feeling quite ill so tucked up in my pj's. Hope everyone has a great time - I look forward to seeing the pictures!

I'm bringing Jaffa Cupcakes! I made a double batch so there should be plenty to go around. M x

I need to point out a few things about tonight:
- The event runs from 6pm -8pm strictly.
- You can only take one plate to eat from. You can't take plates to serve your dish on. You need to bring your own serving plate/dish/bowl.
- You can only take one fork to eat with. You can't take forks to serve your dish with. You need to bring your own serving utensils for your dish.
- When you have finished eating, you need to scrape your plate into the bin provided & return it to the trolley. Don't leave it on the floor or chair for someone else to pick up. This happens every time!
- Be fair about food. Eat roughly the same amount as what you supply. It is not fair to bring one bag of crisps and then eat 4 plates of food. If there is food left when it appears everyone has had enough, then go back for more.
- One potluck offering per person, not one per group. This happens every time! It isn't in the spirit of the event.
- You will be asked to leave if you show up with nothing.

Just in from work and am feeling a little under the weather so I'm off to bed now and my chick pea curry will have to wait to be made for another day. Not sure what to bring instead now - any suggestions anyone ? Something quick and easy that I can make before I leave home at 7 tomorrow seems out of the question at the moment. What do you suggest anyone? (Was wondering if there was anything shop brought that usually comes in handy like lots of custard, ice-cream, fruit or salad?
February 5
Almost 80 RSVPs for tomorrow night. This is on track to be the biggest London Vegan Potluck of all time! xx

I have a question: how much good are we supposed to bring? Should it be a smaller portion for one or two people, or a larger dish? Thanks.
February 5
The Moo Free Chocolate raffle prizes have arrived! I have the new organic Bunny Bars, chocolate drops, Mini Moos, an Easter egg and a box of the pralines. You don't know how difficult it is to unpack all that and not eat it straight away!
1 · February 5
Just about to hit 70 RSVPs! Can't wait to see and taste what everyone brings along! xx
February 4
I would love to join!this Wednesday but I finish work at6:30 in Putney ,it's a good 30 min travel to Holborn station ....what a shame..
February 4
It's been such a long time since I was able to come to one of the potlucks, I am really looking forward to coming. But what to make??? I'm definitely thinking I'll make something savoury though!
February 3
Hello! I have a question about the nature of the potluck. In addition to bringing your own food and utensils for serving it, do we need to bring our own plates, cutlery and glasses for eating/drinking?
Cheers!
February 3
It doesn't look like Moo Free will reach their Kickstarter goal, so that means any money raised will be donated to The Farm Animal Sanctuary!
We have a week to go and are almost at 50 RSVPs. Keep 'em coming! xx
