Asparagasm presents ‘Burns Baby Burns’ – a night of feasting, poetry and tartan-tastic turns.
Working with chefs, venues, restaurants, guest brands and event partners Asparagasms are vegan and gluten-free dining extravaganzas where unusual sharing and creative interventions are encouraged and indulged. And yes, there will be no. fucking. risotto.
When Asparagasm was a wee bairn her beloved Uncle George, a burly big-hearted Borthwick (bless his sweet soul), was in his Bells-soaked element come ‘Rubby Buns’ night. In his thick Scottish brogue he’d read me poetry I understood not at all.
However, I was in thrall with the concept that by simply rubbing buns some celtic magic would be unleashed. As it turned out Burns night was no less fantastical when my naivety was finally spiked and I’ve had the pleasure to attend some wild homages to Robert Burns over the years.
...we will be celebrating Asparagasm style with whisky tastings followed by the ceremonial arrival of a vegan haggis, neeps and tatties and a vegan and gluten-free pudding spectacular. Pipe up if you’d like to attend this poetic caper! It will be our great pleasure to rub buns with you at our first fling of 2013
Price: £35 (see below)
includes whisky tastings, a complimentary beer courtesy of the award-winning Freedom Brewery and a 3-course vegan feast

Asparagasm is a new kind of vegan, pop-up supper club. I went to the last one in late November, and you can see my photos of the night at http://on.fb.me/11wC1dX. January's Asparagasm promises to be a more intimate affair (the capacity at "Back in 5 Minutes" is about 30, as opposed to 120 or so at "White Rabbit").
The normal price for Asparagasm is £35. But we have agreed a discounted rate of £30 for London Vegan Meetup.
You need to book directly with Asparagasm. To book, call Kate on 07947 309 066 or email her at [masked]. Don't forget to quote "London Vegan Meetup" to qualify for the reduced rate (and to ensure that we're all sitting together!)
Assuming I get out of work on time, planning on going for a pre-feast tipple (and hopefully no topple) at the Verge Bar: http://thevergebar.com/
- if anybody would like to join.
Will head to be there for 18:10 - 18:20.

Hi Kate, Can't totally confirm yet. Depends on building work going on at my home if I can make it up into London or not. If you have to take my space because I'm a commitment phob then I'll graciously step aside… x

Hi
I've booked in with Kate. Myself plus two others. I am vegan, one of my friends is vegetarian, and the other one is neither, but both are very into veggie/vegan food. (I'm convincing them it's the way forward!!) I hope that is okay?

It'd be really handy to know when you've booked with Kate. So if you could add a reply to this comment to say so that that'd be much appreciated. Thanks!
