Hi - I would really like to meet fellow vegans in London as none of my friends are and my partner is omni although eats vegan at home. I would love to meet new people that have beliefs/values in common with mine.To have support rather than ridicule.
I became vegan at the begining of October last year having been veggie for 18 years. I am disappointed it took me so long (can't understand that now) but am so glad that I made the change. I have found it a very easy transition.
All sorts of veggies, naturally! Asparagus, Swede, Spinach, Kale are favourites. Lentils, beans and split peas. Love making home made soups and curries - starting to experiment more now that I'm vegan. I enjoy Thai, Indian, Lebanese, Moroccan.
222 is my favourite, also enjoyed the Riverside Vegetaria in Kingston. Have a lovely Caribbean Vegan Cafe in Crystal Palace. I recently tried the Veggie Indian Buffet at Chapel Market - it's amazing! Have tried others but can't remember names!
There are lots! 'What do you eat?' was a question my cousin asked me the other week when she heard I had become vegan!! 'Aren't you deficient in iron/B12/calcium?' etc. Often people ask if I miss bacon sandwiches!
A supportive environment. Meeting like minded people for interesting coversation. To be able to feel relaxed about discussing veganisn - have to bite my lip around colleagues/family.To have fun and to try out some new restaurants and different food
