Hi. I've been vegan since the beginning of 2009, and now can't understand why everyone else isn't. Come on people! I believe a vegan society is the future. It is good for our health, good for the environment, and good for the animals.
As strict as possible, but my weakness is real ale. I am now finding it difficult to reconcile buying eggs or cheese for the kids (who are vegetarian).
I love anything super spicy hot. Phal or Vindaloo has to be top of the list. Maybe I just like to cry. Hard to find vegan options though. Mung bean dal (with chilli). Any veg stir-fried with soy sauce & burnt garlic (I'm good at burning garlic, amongst other things). Other than that anything that actually says it's vegan.
Vtia Organic (now vitao). The vegan Thai eat all you can place in Angel. Good for Food, N4 (great salads and vegan soup). jai chrisna, Pizza Express, Kaati, Tortilla. The burritos at Tortilla are fantastic and they have crazy hot chilli sauces. It's like endorphin heaven! Tibits. Rootmaster (sadly missed). It's not a restaurant, but Holland & Barrett is really cool because they give 10% discount for Vegan society members.
I'm always asked about protein. By the same people time and again. It's like there's this blockage in their brain which can't accept that non animal products can possibly sustain a person. I think they must be defective.
Meeting lovely people who don't look at me and think I'm a crazy hippy tree hugging fool. I'm actually quite normal.
Just brilliant.
