I'm Weaks from Hackney, my hobbies include a constant panic about the state of the world, petition-signing, documentary-watching, and drum&bass. I don't get out much. Lol. But also I am fervently interested in permaculture, freeconomy, and veganism.
I'm pretty vegan. I do eat eggs but only the eggs that come from a specific Norfolk farm where I know Malcolm, the 'owner' (I like to call him the befriender) of the chickens I've never seen such a bunch of free-range respected birds in my life. I also would recommend this! http://www.goodfoodnation.co.uk/hen-nation.php the woman is an animal activist so I trust her eggs/milk significantly more. She says the money raised is for the cows/chickens retirement! Which make me happy. Although to be honest if I had my way I would just let them all run feral & leave animals alone altogether (for example I'm pretty much against pets) so not as soft as one might think.
Potatoes, sourdough bread, blackberries, iceburg lettuce
Rootmaster! Although I think it might be gone now?
I'm quite a new vegan and many of my friends are vegetarian so haven't had much contact with meat-eaters since I have been in this state. You want silly questions look on the youtube vids (I know I know I shouldn't read them they're just morons, but it's like a car crash I can't not read what these wrecks of humanity have to say!)
Finally meeting some people who understand the world IN REALITY, as I do. We're pretty hard to come by. Most of my family/friends call me an extremist or say that I'm judgemental (I am, can't help it - I actually think judgement is a good thing why we're all told to suppress it is beyond me) and I want to hear some people say "Welcome! Well done! You have ticked the right boxes on both the cerebral and visceral pages! You are human!" which would stop me going mad I think.
Hi Weaky. Following our previous two (and only) meetings, a lively discussion and political debate venue has emerged. Next time we are planning on developing activist campaigns and event organising. You sound up our street, we would value your contribution,

Hey Weaky, don't panic about the world, believe it or not things are getting better ! Less people dying from war, less people being murdered, fewer children dying, less people starving. Most peoples standard of living is getting better, and so is there quality of life. Honest it is true, so take a deep breath and thank.........SCIENCE for our world calming down. Check out Steven Pinker what a great guy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ramBFR...
I just wanted to wish you a warm welcome to my new cat focused meet up.
Im really pleased that we have a few cat lovers joined after only a couple of days!
As you can see on the calendar, I have planned our first meet up for early January, I do hope you can make it!
Was hoping you would be joining us at the demo against the deer cull since you replied as a "yes" on the event page, and did not say you were only a maybe. Any chance you will make it for the next one on February 2nd in Richmond instead as we are really trying to get the numbers up? We have to keep up the pressure on the Royal Parks with lots of public awareness events such as these demos.
Possibly see you later, at the fete.
