Long-time vegan looking to connect with like-hearted people and enjoy some good food (without having to ask "erm...what exactly is in this?") Hoping for laughs, good conversation and some friendly hugs too (vegans tend to be more tactile!) x
The state of my veganness (what an odd expression!) is pretty healthy thanks! I'm full on vegan and have been for 10 years. Vegetarian since I was 8 when I made the connection properly between what I saw in the fields near my house and the stuff mum was trying to make me eat. Keep discovering more and more reasons to be a vegan and haven't yet found one to make me question it.
I'm not at all picky (although non-animal products only obviously!). I eat mindfully and enjoy everything I eat. Particular liking for my homemade muffins and I recently made some divinely delicious cherry/coconut and chocolate cake balls out of a happy accident with a new cupcake recipe! (Trying to convince office mates of the joys of a vegan diet by baking for them all the time - so far, so good - they've stopped saying "Don't you feel deprived?? and instead say "When are you baking those lovely vegan cakes again?") Gently, gently catchy monkey.....
Mildreds, Beatroot (not exactly a restaurant but i love that a £4 box of mixed vegan goodness can pretty much see you through a whole day of high activity). Class.
"What DO you eat?" Like their plates consist entirely of dairy and meat. Oh, and "Aren't you ill all the time?" - erm...no - I'm healthier than virtually anyone else I know - next question.
Better awareness of great places to eat in London, conversations with people who already know and understand a massive part of my make-up, laughs and giggles, friendly hugs (because I live alone in London and I'm a massive hugger!), new friends, new ideas, new connections. Maybe some new responses to the age old vegan questions (I'm getting bored of mine).
