Introduction

Heya! I'm Emma and I'm 24 years old. I'm into music, especially afro-beat music - love that stuff, singing, dancing, creating my own events, spirituality and consciousness, meeting new people and generally getting the most out of life!

What's your state of veganness (i.e. how vegan are you)?

I'm currently transitioning from vegetarian to vegan at the moment so getting there bit by bit. I used to work in a vegan restaurant in Crystal Palace so know a bit about cooking vegan food, animal rights, the way in which a vegan diet benefits the earth, etc and loving it all!

Favourite foods?

Oh my I love soo much where do I start?! Okay my favourite foods are soya mince lasagne, roasted vegetables and cous cous salad, rice dishes, carrot and coriander soup (pssst....use sweet potatoes as abase instead of regular potatoes and add a slice or orange 30mins to the mixture before mixing into a soup! Just fab!) thai curries, the list in endless trust me!

Favourite London restaurants?

I don't really have any to be honest especially as I'm transitioning and my family and friends who are all meat-eaters won't try vegan/vegetarian restaurants with me

What is the most common or silliest thing people ask you about not eating meat?

How do you not eat chicken? What kind of black person doesn't eat meat?! Don't you miss milk/cheese? So, what do you eat then.........?

What do you hope to get by coming to meetups?

a wider and more informed view or veganism as a whole rather than just food, sharing recipes and discovering vegan restaurants.
