What's your state of veganness (i.e. how vegan are you)?

Been vegan 20 years. It's easy. So easy I decided to spend the rest of my life helping other people to find out how easy it is too.

Favourite foods?

Just read the menu for any of our 25 gorgeous vegan restaurants in London, we are so spoiled. Anything except rhubarb, fennel or celery, urg.

Favourite London restaurants?

inSpiral Lounge, Beatroot, Jai, VitaO, 222, and now that Tibits has proper vegan desserts it joins the list.

What is the most common or silliest thing people ask you about not eating meat?

Non-vegan friends and relatives no longer make sarcastic comments or worry about me, instead they acknowledge it's good to be vegan or say they're eating less meat these days. We've come a long way.

What do you hope to get by coming to meetups?

See my lovely vegan friends, meet new ones, and savour that elation of the first bite of a new dish, or a sumptuous vegan dessert of a kind you thought you'd never have again.

I'm a vegan writer. I compile the book Vegetarian London, which only lists vegan dishes. I love the great vegan friends found through groups like this one.

That sticky toffee pudding at Tibits is my sugar downfall...

Alex, I'm honoured that you've joined the group!
And I agree with you vis a vis too much vegan junk food in London or raw food extremists .. both of which tend to be high in fats: nuts, oils, etc.. causing health issues, weight gain and making us believe that there is something wrong with cooked foods! (one of the reason I started to avoid veggie events.. I couldn't see any sustainable fresh affordable food, but a slow spiral of the fast food world taking over) I'd love to collaborate with you!
