February 18, 2009
I came along to the last one in February, and really enjoyed myself, meeting new people and sharing similar experiences. Everyone was really friendly and I'd like to do it again, especially since I'm moving back to London in a few weeks.
Been vegan since January 2003, during my first year at university. I've been a member of Bristol University Vegetarian & Vegan society since then (when it started)
Anything Rosie cooks me :-) Failing that, vegan cheesecake is the best dessert I've ever had. Soups are always good. I don't mind a few meat replacement dishes, although when I cook I prefer to avoid them.
Riverside Vegetaria, Kingston Mr Mann's, Edgware 222 Veggie Vegan, West Kensington Sorry, I haven't been to many more (apart from the all-you-can-eat chinese places, but they're for when I'm on a tiny budget). I live in Bristol most of the time
Don't you miss bacon? Don't plants feel pain? The food chain says we should eat meat. Zzzzz to all of them.
Meet some new people who are like minded, get some new interesting recipes, and hopefully have some fun into the bargin.
Not sure point 1 of the rules will be workable Mark, as some people RSVP but don't show, other people turn up unannounced, and sometimes events are cross-posted, so you might get 2 people on here but 100 from elsewhere... from my own experiences, for what it's worth ;-)
Hi Mark, I know it's short notice, but can you put the word out to your members about this Saturday's singles event please - "Veg*n singletons are welcome to come celebrate Vegan Pizza Day in Harrow, west London, this Saturday. There'll be veg*n Indian food, vegan pizza, cupcakes, cheesecake, DJs and comedy, with over 100 vegetarians and vegans to chat to :-) see http://www.meetup.com/londonvegan/eve..."
