Hi, try this website http://www.secretsoci... which gives detail of their vegan boutique on Caledonian Rd (3 mins walk from Kings Cross station). Having been there recently they have a decent collection of vegan shoes. Good luck : )

Hi!

Vegetarian Shoes in Brighton has the best range I think: http://www.vegetarian... .
You might as well make a day-trip of it - there's some good cafes in the same road, and you can have a dip in the sea!

Hello,

As an alternative to going to Brighton, you can try Vx in King's Cross, which stocks Vegetarian Shoes. They don't have the whole range, but they have a decent selection. Hope that helps,

Christina

Hi,

Bourgeois Boheme sell lovely vegan shoes. Their website is: www.bboheme.com. They have a retail showroom located between Ladbroke Grove and Westbourne Park tube stations under the Westway. Their slogan is fashion with compassion!

I can second Secret Society of Vegans, though there range is quite small. I bought VeganLine.com "Bouncing Boots" 3-hole shoe (http://veganline.com/...) and have had them about a year now. Very comfortable and waterproof. VeganLine claim they are unisex, but may be a bit too chunky.

While I completely support vegan shoes and all of the places listed in this thread - and at one of the vegan fairs saw the shoes from Brighton and all the others mentioned here - most of them were out of my price range. While I am trying very hard not to buy things made in China (for too many reasons to go into here, and yes I've been to China), I have shoes and boots - £25 from Peacocks made in China of all man made materials - that have seen me through. I just bought a pair of shoes at Mak's today for work 100% man-made materials. There are options out there if you look for them. It's been so long since I had a pair but are Doc Martin's made of leather or man made materials? I remember the soles being rubber and the tops I thought were some man made material. Could be wrong...(Guess I need to google!)

Wendy is right that you can get vegan shoes on the high street for a lot less than the vegan companies charge. For example Shoe Zone: www.shoezone.com sell some cheap non-leather shoes and boots.

However, if the ethics of the manufacturing are a concern to you then it's reassuring to know that Bourgeois Boheme and Veganline have ethical policies and Vegetarian Shoes states on it's website "Most of our shoes are made-to-order for us, exclusively to our specification in European and English factories, including the oldest co-op in the country, established in 1881!"

On the Volentia vegan shoes group, Ethical Wares and TOMS are among some of the suppliers suggested.
Vx and SSOV are one and the same, both run by Rudee (we had a Volentia and Meetup visit there not long ago).
