Does anyone here take a B12 supplement they can recommend or have any advice on where you can get your levels checked?

I've heard that in the States it's common to get blood work done and you can get vitamin shots. I've not found anything like this in the UK though.

I had mine checked by my GP. (It was fine.) But they'll probably need a reason to do so...

(Actually, not by my GP. I went to my GP and he referred me to the hospital for the actual check...)

The Vegan Society does a supplement called "Veg 1", which contains 114% RDA of B12 along with Vitamin D, Folic Acid, Iodine, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B6, and Selenium.

Here's a link:

It's important to get B12 in your diet, either from a supplement or from fortified foods like plant-based milks or marmite. The trouble with inadequate B12 levels is it can take up to 5 years before you show symptoms, but can cause a fatal form of anemia.

Hope that's helpful!
