....and a bit of ... CODE arrrgggg!

Special Guest: Accessibility Evangelist Artur Ortega will demonstrate bleeding edge web accessibility: WAI-ARIA for Web 2.0 sites. Screen readers for the blind will be demonstrated, incuding JAWS and NVDA.

Nathan will present on using HTML5 basics now, using CSS3 that degrades nicely on IE6, a bit of JQuery, some micro formats, and a demo of the basic use of the symfony framework after just getting back from symfony live in Paris.

Hi folks - Just as a heads up Fulham are playing Shakhtar Donetsk tonight so bars and trains in the Putney Bridge area will be a bit busy.

@ Ben Logan - I think 'a bit busy' might be just a touch of an understatement.

@Ben - Fortunately we've got our own upstairs lounge / bar reserved just for us. Putney Bridge station copes fairly well with football fans, so just make sure you cross the bridge and don't follow the crowd or you'll end up at a football game!

Very interesting talks. Though my dream of declaring IE6 dead this year was shattered, Nathan's presentation has piqued my interest in learning more about microformats and considering HTML5.
Artur's demonstration was an very enlightening on the subject of screen readers and how markup can be helpful or detrimental to their functionality. Still very surprised at the price of JAWS. Would love to see a link to the video of the talks. Looking forward to the next Meetup.

The video has been removed as it was too long. I'm gutted I missed this night. It would be nice if you could upload again elsewhere please.

OK, sorry about that, uploading to Vimeo now (a smaller version at 900kbps instead of 1200) so it gets it under the 500MB free limit.
