How Cassandra Enables Today's Internet Enterprises (Plus FREE Pizza & Beer)

Hi, thanks for visiting!

We meet on the third Thursday of every month in London.

This month (16th October) we will be joined by Hayato Shimizu and Amy McNee from DataStax, the leading distributed database technology built on Apache Cassandra. They will be delivering an awesome session as well as providing you hungry web peeps with FREE pizza and beer!

Join us from 7:00pm to chat with fellow attendees before the session kicks off at 7:30pm.

Hayato and Amy will be  delivering their session 'How Cassandra Enables Today's Internet'. They will look at why Apache Cassandra is recognised as the NoSQL database of choice for high-performance, always-on applications. Hayato will cover some basics of Cassandra's data structure and architecture. Amy will then relate these foundations to specific examples from some of the world's most innovative brands, and discuss what more traditional businesses can learn from them, followed by a Q & A.

A bit about our speakers:

Hayato Shimizu

Hayato Shimizu, an experienced software engineer-devops engineer-architect, over the past 15 years has written software and built highly resilient distributed infrastructure for industries including ISVs, retail banking, broadband systems, e-commerce, and IPTV. During this time he discovered his passion for Apache Cassandra. This passion lead to joining DataStax in May 2013, working now as a Solutions Architect Team Lead for their EMEA division.

Amy McNee

Amy has over 20 years of business intelligence, data discovery and data warehouse experience. Extensive knowledge in developing analytics strategies for Fortune 1000 customers and is the Global Analytics and Big Data Evangelist at DataStax.

Please RSVP to guarantee a seat and some delicious pizza :)
