Tonight is more of a structured discussion than a talk - and our first Virtual meetup online - it centers on how to allow long lasting connections between members in web communities. The London Web team will aim to meet on Google Hangouts at another time during the month long term to discuss:
Each third Thursday of the month, we should find richer connections being made in the social times before and after the talk.
For the first time, we're using Google Hangouts, broadcast live on YouTube, so just visit http://www.londonwebmeetup.org from 7.20pm on Thursday.
It's a bit of a balance between combining forces to work on projects relating to this goal in our 'Free Time' - of which we all have little of, and paying people from some kind of crowd funding model.
By using LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter & Meetup.com more as a group, along with Foursquare, Youtube, Vimeo, iTunes and the other networking tools, people in these meetings, when also on the WIFI with laptops to ensure virtualised attendees are not missing out - will be able to engage in whole new ways.
Note, this will be filmed and edited, so the majority of the discussion will not be released to the wider group or the public. Any parts that are released, we will seek permission from those contributors first. The name of this meetup has changed as the old name was a bit vague.
See you tonight (Thursday) from 7.20pm, just visit http://www.londonwebmeetup.com closer to the time!
