Hello Everyone

The next meetup will be on Thursday 25th October 2007 at 7pm. Guy will be hosting this meetup and he aims to put the "ass" back into Assistant Organiser!

This week's topic is Money Money Money! Who's got it? Who wants it? Who gives and Who gets? Root of all evil or source of all happiness?
Stuck for ideas? Why not take some inspiration from these pioneering poets:
There's nothing wrong with letting the girls know that you're money and that you want to party. - Vince Vaughan
If you wana look good and not be bummy, girl you better give me that money - Ol' Dirty Bastard
Money, it's a hit, don't give me that do goody good bullshit - Pink Floyd

The venue is The Carpenters Arms pub near Marble Arch and we have a room upstairs just for us!

This can be in a poem, short story or perhaps a song! Anything you like. Remember, you don't have to bring any work with you at all, just come along and hang out with us and listen to what others have written!

IMPORTANT - PLEASE KEEP THE WORD COUNT TO A MAXIMUM OF 500 WORDS!!

Everyone will have about 5- 7 mins reading their work which will give us all time to give you feedback if you want it.

Don't worry about reading or performing your own work, someone else is always willing to perform for you!

Our evenings are always followed by much socialising and many trips to the bar, so please come and join us.

I look forward to seeing you all there!

Guy

Who attended?

  • 15 attendees
    •  It's amazing the way the group keeps attracting so many new members from all walks of life. Hopefully last night we convinced a few people to want to come back! Thanks everyone who attended, hope to see you again soon!

Very friendly, would have been good to have more readings, but an enjoyable evening
    •  There were fewer readers at this particular event because many of the people in attendance were coming for the first time. That being said, I thought there was a lot of great material shared and wonderful follow up conversations. People sought out the writers who had read and provided feedback which is what it's all about really. I love the fact that at each Writer's Meetup you have a completely different dynamic based on the new people that come along.
    •  We enjoyed the group and look forward to participating at the next meet up
    • tee (+1 guest)
