London Writers' Cafe is a community for writers who want input on their work. The majority of our group are writing short stories and their first novels but we're open to hearing any form of creative writing - plays, poetry, scripts - all welcome.
Anyone coming to a meeting can reserve a reading spot but there's only enough time for six readers at each one. Being a reader means you'll have ten minutes to read your piece and then roughly another ten minutes for constructive critique, comments and questions on your work from the group. If you'd like to read please post a comment below this description to request a slot. We'll always confirm readers a week or so before the meeting.
If you are reading, please bring at least 10 copies to be shared as you'll get more thorough feedback. We encourage all members to read but there will never be any pressure to do this until you feel ready.
Please note: Due to time limits, there are only only six slots per meeting so please check before you book, by reading through the comments below, if all the slots have been taken. We're very popular so it's very wise to book early if you want to read.
Hopefully that covers everything you'll need to know but for any burning questions, please email us.
Costs: £5 per session; please pay by PayPal when you RSVP.
Location: The Shooting Star is less than 5mins walk from Liverpool Street station, on the central Line. See google maps for details.
Take the Bishopsgate exit from the main rail concourse, cross the road, turn left at Dirty Dicks pub onto Middlesex Street. The pub is about 100 metres down on the right-hand side, past Nandos, and we meet in the function room downstairs.
