  • This location is shown only to members

Great news! Our special guest will be none other than Imogen Cooper, Director, Golden Egg Academy. She'll be coming in to share her advice, tips and no-nos to writing for youngsters (children of all ages up to young adults).

Formerly Head of Fiction for Chicken House Publishing, and based at her house near Bath, Golden Egg provides talks, workshops, and one-to-one editorial support. It caters for writers who wish to submit their work to agents and publishers and works closely with Barry Cunningham at Chicken House Publishing, and has strong links with other companies. Find out more on their website and watch a short video from Imogen here.

Follow them on Twitter: @TheGEAcademy

I know many of you are writing in this category so I wanted to bring in someone you can pepper with questions and walk away from this talk with what you need to move forward.

Please share this event with any other writers who are writing for children, teenagers or would just like to know more about stories aimed at this audience.

Costs: £10 per person and guests are welcome; please pay by PayPal when you RSVP.

Location: The Shooting Star is less than 5mins walk from Liverpool Street station, on the central Line. See google maps for details.

Take the Bishopsgate exit from the main rail concourse, cross the road, turn at the Dirty Dicks pub onto Middlesex Street. The pub is about 100 metres down on the right-hand side, past Nandos, and we meet in the function room downstairs.

Last night's talk was my first and I found it hugely valuable. I currently workshop my writing with two different groups. Both are great but all the other writers are writing for an adult audience. I'd love to connect with fellow London-based YA writers and maybe think about setting up some kind of network. If anyone is interested, please do drop me a message. Cheers!
