Are you a fiction writer/author based in London searching a creative writing group of 3,400+ like-minded individuals? Congratulations. You've found it.
At its heart, London Writers' Cafe exists to give emerging fiction writers a place to get constructive feedback on their work and learn more about getting published through talks and workshops by professionals. Joining is free but you must live in London and be writing some form of fiction (novels, short stories, plays, scripts etc) to be eligible. All profiles are reviewed by admin so please answer the questions when joining thoroughly so your request can be swiftly considered and approved.
Meetings happen frequently in private rooms close the these stations: Liverpool St, Oxford Circus, Holborn and Baker St. It's entirely up to you how often to attend (most members aim for once a month). Browse what's up next in our calendar.
The way it works
For our Creative Writing Workshops, members volunteer in advance to read their fictional unpublished work (normally a sample of 2,500 - 4,000 words) for live feedback in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. New members are advised to come along and listen before they share their own work. We don't believe in groups where everyone is forced to contribute/offer feedback *shudder* so you can attend for ages before you read - we'll never pressure.
Talks, Workshops & Socials
As well as feedback nights, we program a huge array of talks with leading publishing folk (including top Literary Agents and Editors), technical workshops (characterisation/voice/POV/pacing etc) taught by professionals and host memorable social events on occasion.
Questions? Ideas? Suggestions? Do get in touch via email or Twitter.
Hope to meet you soon and happy writing!
