Whilst at University was in a writing group and have kept it up since. Have developed from a young man writing darker stories, murders and black fairy stories etc, into a slightly older adventure seeker - writing about jungle river boat expenditions, old maps and ancient treasures. (Presumably will be doing light romance in my later years!) Have always loved writing - whether poetry, prose or whatever - and aspire to publication. Have increasingly realised that writing happens most and best when there is a support network around to help foster the idea, and help it on its way through to a story. A little help would always be good!
I guess I would like it to be like my old writing group at University - a mixture of people, ideas, rationales for being there - inclusive and supportive, no matter what level one is at. An element of informality and socialibility would be great - although also something that gives time so that people can share their writing, and also have space for games/interactive elements.

One of my friends from University, Simon, came along to one of you events a few weeks ago and was very enthusiastic. Was going to persuade him to come along again with me - and see where we go from there.

Hi - I'm James Postgate, a 30 year old civil servant. Originally from New Zealand I've grown up in the UK, and have lived and worked in London for the last six years. Related (a bit distantly) to Oliver Postgate who wrote Bagpuss and the Clangers!
