London Writers’ Café is the place for creative writers to read their work and get constructive feedback in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
At our meetings we have six reading spaces per meeting that can be reserved when you RSVP. Taking a reading means you'll read your work for 10-15 minutes and then given critique/discussion from around the table. It sounds a lot scarier than it is, trust me!
Meetings take place twice a month and are limited to 25 members per event.
Most members are either working on short stories or a first novel but we welcome any creative writer seeking advice and encouragement. We end each evening with a few drinks in the bar so everyone gets an opportunity to socialise, chat and network with other members. Also, if you are on it, LWC is on Facebook. 'Like us' to find out about writers’ events, websites, news and cool writer-y stuff going on in and around London.
Cost: It’s free to join us but we charge a nominal £3 to attend meetings. For guest talks, workshops and events ticket prices will vary. Meetings are paid for in advance via Paypal or in cash on the night.
Venue/Location: minutes from Liverpool Street station.
FAQ: You do not have to read anything to the group until you are ready. Any writer is welcome to join and listen until they feel confident enough to read. We’re very friendly so it normally doesn’t take very long for new members to jump on in!
Any other questions about LWC, please contact us. Otherwise, we look forward to seeing you at LWC soon!
NB: if you are not a writer but are interested to learn more about our group please contact us for more information.
