I've had poetry published in several magazines, plus well-received on my poetry blog, and am aiming at book publication. My poetry is varied in form but mainly lyrical and mystical with a strong interest in time, history, nature and myth. I'm also well ahead with a darkly humorous fantasy novel and have started a more serious fantasy. I'm interested in possibilities departing from the traditional poetry book format. My non-poetry blog includes a satirical series on local government that might have potential for publication, probably in a magazine (Private Eye?). I'm keen to exchange ideas with other writers but especially to make useful contacts and learn about publication options whether traditional or realistic self-publishing, as well as experience and ideas on setting up a website.
As above! I want to meet other writers, share ideas, publicise my work and learn from their experience of publication. Learning where to go, who to speak to and what to use would be invaluable. Sharing ideas includes constructive criticism, especially on the novels. What I expect the group to be like is based purely on your website: that writers meet, share their work and socialise. I do not need support on general English-writing skills, grammar and so on. I might consider branching out into new areas (plays, scripts) and then I would have a lot to learn.

Through a LinkedIn group - not sure which as I belong to two relevant ones.

Just retired from the 9-5 job. I write mainly lyrical, mystical poetry but am writing two fantasy novels. I have a poetry blog (http://simonsworl...) and one with a satirical series (http://sibathehat...). I live in Harwich.
Lots of useful events.
