I started writing when I was travelling the world to get away from the credit crunch crisis. At first it was just a blog, but I became more & more obsessed with writing. Then I started writing a crime novel, which is based on an idyllic island in South East Asia. I had to shelve that project, because I felt the strong desire to write about the experiences I had during my year away, and after coming back. That then turned into a work of fiction, in order to protect the people close to me. I am already thinking about what my next project should be, whilst putting together the synopsis for submission to agents. I am proud of myself for having finished my first book. It took me a long time and it wasn't always easy. It's been tough being a sociable Londoner whilst trying to continue writing as much as possible. I am keen to meet other writers to share my experiences with. I am missing the social aspect of working with other people.
I am pretty open-minded about what this group might be like. For me personally, I am keen to get amongst people who share my passion for writing. When I tell my friends about my passion for writing, and how much I sacrifice for it, and that I expect to get my work published, I can see the disbelief in their eyes. They all have regular, decent jobs, nothing particularly creative. I grew up in a non-creative household. I just need to be with people who don't think it's weird to pursue and believe in a career as a creative. I am hoping to find this type of interaction at your circle.

Just finished 2nd draft of my first novel (women's contemporary fiction). Can't quite believe that I have actually done it! Looking for like-minded people to share experiences with and to encourage each other. It can be a lonely passion...
Great place to meet other writers; good mix of people; lots of amazing raw talent there and great variety of work being read. I really like it. Oh, and everybody was very welcoming and supportive. No harsh criticism - at all.
