If you write fiction and are in need of a writing group of like-minded individuals - congratulations, you've found it!
At its heart, London Writers' Cafe gives fiction writers a place to get constructive feedback on their work and learn more about getting published through talks and workshops by professionals.
To join our zealous community of scribes, you must live in London and be writing fiction. Our writers are at all stages and levels (from start to submissions) so it doesn't matter if you've been writing for years, or just a few months, we're here for everyone and we'd love to meet you.
Lastly, we don't believe in groups where everyone is forced to contribute/offer feedback *shudder* so we'll never pressure anyone to read before they're ready. Read more from Lisa on what makes a quality writing group.
Reading & Feedback groups
In our regular writing workshops, members volunteer in advance to read a sample of up to 3,500 words in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Reading spaces are 20-30 minutes long; time enough to read and hear feedback from listeners. Feedback is moderated, constructive and encouraging (we're not in the business of killing dreams!).
Talks, workshops & socials with professionals
As well as feedback sessions, LWC boasts an array of advice talks with leading professionals (including top Literary Agents, Publishers and Editors), technical writing workshops (characterisation/voice/POV/pacing etc) taught by experts and host memorable social events.
For writing competitions, retreats and invitations to submit work to agents and publishers, go here. For anything else, contact us or follow us on Facebook and Twitter for inspirational advice, links and events.
Hope to meet you very soon and happy writing!
Advertising to our members: If you have an item to promote to fiction writers, please request to join and post in our Facebook group. All posts are assessed by admin on their suitability for our writers. Posts we love will then be shared on via social media, this website or email. For anything else, please send an email. Thank you.
