Hello, are you a creative writer/author? Do you live, or work, in London? Are you looking for a group of 2,500+ like-minded individuals? Congratulations. You've found it.
LWC is a fiction writers' group where any creative writer can volunteer to read their work for instant feedback and advice in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Incredibly, we've been around for eight years as of this Summer (founded June, 2006).
So, if 2014 is the year you move your writing forward, join us and try our critique sessions, talks or socials for yourself. Come along to our next meeting to see how we roll and then read your own work once you feel ready. Don't worry - you'll never be pressured to share anything, or feedback on anything, until you volunteer to do so.
Reading at our groups is booked in advance. Once you've joined, simply write a request on the page of the event. On average, we have 4 to 6 readers given 20-30mins each. That's enough time for a short story (3k or less), novel chapter(s), a concise play or quite a long poem....(but we'll listen to just about anything, so long as it's fiction.)
For what's up next, please see our calendar of critique sessions, talks on writing and publishing with some of the industry's finest, and (rollicking) socials. We meet in a venue close to Liverpool St station but are expanding to other locations this year.
It's completely free to join (and it always will be) but we do have to charge for meetings and special events to cover costs.
- write novels, plays, monologues, scripts, screenplay, short stories, poems and the like (i.e. any FICTION writing project)
- live, or work, in London, or close enough to attend our meetings
- want to meet a friendly and supportive group of like-minded individuals
- just starting to writing, writing, editing/submitting to agents, agented, or published (it really doesn't matter to us).
All applications are considered individually by me (Lisa) so please take the time to fill out our quick profile then I can quickly approve your request and you can come along to your first meetup. Whoop.
