I'm developing a decent collection of short stories, have just started my second screenplay and will also be posting a food/semi fictional blog as soon as I get the page looking right.
More than anything I want to find people who are astute enough to tell me if I'm barking up the wrong tree before I spend weeks on something dull. Useful criticism I suppose. Not necessarily in a group setting (though I don't mind) but to find someone to whom I can say "Is there anything in this?" A big weakness I have is that I discover a theme that seems fascinating, obsess on it, attempt to write it, dissect it and display it as clearly as possible... only to find that it is of no, or limited, interest to anyone else. On top of this I want to make friends with a group of people who are not intimidated because I can string a sentence together. Although I have studied a bit I've never been around writers outside Uni. I was a chef for 6 years and a gardener for the last 5. I want to learn from passionate people, stop going it alone all the time, and of course be available for anyone who respects my judgement and feels like they don't want to go it alone any more too.

My Name is Graham Brittain. I've just arrived in London. I have a BA English Lit and a MA in Screenwriting. I've been writing with limited success since I was 14 and tried to give up last year at 37. Found it impossible... so going all the way.
