If you write fiction and are in need of a writing group of like-minded individuals - congratulations, you've found it!
At its heart, London Writers' Cafe gives fiction writers a place to get constructive feedback on their work and learn more about getting published through talks and workshops by professionals.
For our events, you must live in London, or near enough, and be writing some form of fiction - novels, short stories, plays, scripts - to join our community. Our writers are at all stages and levels so it doesn't matter if you've been writing for years or just a few months, we're here for everyone and we'd love to meet you.
We don't believe in groups where everyone is forced to contribute/offer feedback *shudder* so we'll never pressure anyone to read before they're ready.
The way it works
In our workshops, five writers volunteer in advance to read their work (normally a sample of 300 - 4,000 words) for live feedback in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Reading spaces are roughly 20 minutes long; time enough to read for 10-15mins and hear 5-10mins feedback.
Talks, workshops & socials with professionals
As well as feedback sessions, LWC boasts an array of advice talks with leading professionals (including top Literary Agents, Publishers and Editors), technical writing workshops (characterisation/voice/POV/pacing etc) taught by experts and host memorable social events.
Advertising to our members: If you have something to promote to fiction writers, please request to join and post in our Facebook group. All posts are assessed by admin on their suitability for our writers. Posts we love will then be shared on via social media, this website or email. For anything else, please send me an email. Thank you.
