4th Annual Labor day Pasadena ride

Hard to believe it's been 4 years since we started doing this ride. Let's once again ride up to Pasadena, cruise the arroyo, and eat at the world famous Oinkster. No work, no worries, just cruising. We'll gather at about 10, then take off with gear on and gas tanks full at 10:45 or so. See you there.

Hey everyone, thanks for coming. But instead of hitting the,"Good to see you" button 36 times, I'll just say good to see all of you. Thanks to those that helped me, and helped others that needed it. It was great to meet new riders to the club, I hope we see you again. Happy 100th ride L.B.A.S.G.

And thanks for setting it up! Yet another well-managed run for LBaSG...

Great ride, if a little on the warm side... Excellent company as well -- and the size of the LASG contingent was a pleasant surprise (thanks again Stephen for pulling it together). And, of course, heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped make sure we all got there and back despite the toll taken by the heat.

Working today at the range teaching a class today. Julie got stung by a yellow jacket. Her arm has swollen big time. Riding is out for tomorrow.

What a great ride, as long as we where moving the heat really wasn't that bad. cruising through the over head trees is always my favorite part. It was really cool to see such a big turn out. Thank you to everyone who came. See you guys on the next one.

Great ride, great people!! Good'ol hot Labor Day ride. Always fun to run new roads, right in my own back yard. Thank you Dan and everyone for a near perfect day. For those with scooter trouble and those that fell a swift healing to mind, body and machine.

Well.. Had an uneventful ride home on the 110 fwy with Al & friend. Brrr.. it's 82 degrees at home now...!!! LOL. My scootie is riding as smooth as ever (the temporary choking fixed itself, I guess). Anyway my friends, I had a great time w/you all: Happy 100th LBASG ride...!

    September 1, 2013

    • shane

My Symba isn't tubeless... I'm with you Rusty..I wouldn't feel comfortable riding it on a plug since... I ride about 500 miles a week. I've put on 12000 miles since Jan. of this year alone.

This ride has officially broken the record for the most comments posted for a ride. It's great to see this level of excitement for a ride.

I want to do my part to help break 100 messages, I know we can do it !

      September 2, 2013

    • Rod (walrus) W.

Here is my message to help. I wanted to go on this ride today, but woke up with my blood sugars off kilter, to much insulin I think. So didn't think it was a good idea to make the ride. I am sure it was wonderful, with all the scooters. Hope to make this weekend to the museum, tho.

      September 2, 2013

I have had the exact same thing happen to my arm. Hope your feeling better soon Julie .

I was so looking forward to this ride, but unfortunately my little symba has a flat, won't be able to get it repaired in time for take off. Anyone know a mechanic that is available sometime today?

    September 1, 2013

    • Rusty

There's a copy of the service manual at: http://www.datafileho... It shows how to remove and replace the wheels, but not how to remove and replace the tires themselves. There ought to be a Youtube walkthrough out there on how to do that part though. You'll need the same stuff as you would to patch a bicycle tire (patch kit, tire irons), a set of sockets and wrenches, and a torque wrench. I'd swap the tube out for a new one relatively soon, though.

Question... what is the route to Pasadena? Freeway? If so, what is max speed? Thanks.

    August 19, 2013

I think she's trying to ask if we could make this ride a 2-for-1 destination deal.

      August 31, 2013

A 2fer would make for a very long day.

I am going but cannot think of a Ralphs on Sepulveda. I am in Carson, close to Main and Sepulveda. Where is your Ralphs?

    August 31, 2013

    • Rusty

The east/west Sepulveda Blvd. (which starts in Long Beach as Willow, and ends in Torrance as Camino Real) was actually once the same road as the north/south Sepulveda Blvd. (which now is called PCH south of Artesia Blvd). Look at the satellite view of the area where Camino Real meets Torrance Blvd near PCH and it will make a bit more sense.

      August 31, 2013

    • Rusty

@ Rod: Anyhow, if you're joining the ride-to-the-ride, it looks like your best join-in opportunity is the 9:35 (or so) "stop" at PCH and Vermont where Mercedes will be waiting. Get there early though!

      1 · August 31, 2013

If there is interest in the West Los Angeles area to ride down, let me know and I will plan a pickup ride to Long Beach.
